Harman Kardon recievers though not high in power are great in sound quality. And it says on cnet.com they go just as loud as an 90 watt reciever and sound better.

Im really looking into a pioneer 7.1 reciever (VSX-816-K) and i was just wondering since basically everything is encoded to 5.1 would it just use the 5.1 speakers needed or convert it to use all of them
