My original idea was to just skip the subwoofer, and go straight to the satellites from the receiver, just take the speaker wire and plug it in. I am not sure about impedances though, I have an inkling that since the receiver is 8 ohm, and the speakers are 4 ohm (?) it may be very easy to blow the speakers...

I am planning on buying the Onkyo TX-SR504 receiver, and was wondering if it would be ok if I used my 4.1 satellites as surrounds in my home theater? I have two main speakers, but would like to get surround sound without spending more money at this time. Suggestions?
