  1. Sorry to get this old topic up again. But I have a similar situation. I got my rt12d back out of the garage and when plugging in the power cord it starts to hum without any rca being connected. Full power or mute, the hum is always there. The sub hasn't got a ground pin, so no problems with ground loop, I think? Did the TS found a solution? Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk
  2. @oldbuckster: dollar for dollar you can find better: Such as?? actually the MSRP in europe is 2000€ (at the current rate $2900), and I can get it at 1500€ ($2175) eg: Denon AVR 3808 1700€ ($2465 ) now at 1290€ (1870$) and Yamaha RX-V 3800 1700€ ($2465 ) now at 1275€ ($1848) @Bill H.: The Other brand of speakers could have caused the Flatness: I've been thinking and the brand came back to me, it was : ROGERS (never heard about it) An other issue is that Klipsch isn't that popular (yet) here in Belgium. But things are changing !!! So not many people have them at home. Only people who are really into home theaters know Klipsch, the others only know B&W, Focal, JBL, Kef, Dali, Wharfedale, ... I found a shop in Germany ( 166km) where I can listen to the RF83 with an onkyo 875 ($1725), maybe it's worth the trip
  3. Does someone have experience with: RF83 - RC64 -RS62 - RT12 with an Onkyo TX-NR 905 I would like to know if the sound won't be too bright? Currently I have the Denon AVR2106, which is warm but too light. I can't find a shop who has my Klipsch speaker set with the Onkyo for audition. I listened to the Onkyo 875 / Denon avr2808 on totally different speakers then Klipsch (I don't remember the brand) Conclusion: The onkyo sounded flat, the Denon much richer in bass BUT: my RF83 and 2106 give loads of bass, and I was thinking: - The combination of RF83 and Onkyo, may be a good marriage?
  4. Hi, The RT12d has a USB connection. On the following page I read that you can hook your sub to the PC to do the setup. http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/volume_13_4/klipsch-rt-12d-subwoofer-december-2006-part-1.html withch type and where can I get the software to make this work? Quote: "Proprietary Klipsch software is required for your PC in order to use this capability " What are the possibilities with this USB port. Thanks Bert
  5. No, No, I am Dutch speaking and live in Turnhout (Antwerp) Mais moi je pense que vous êtes francophone? Est correct? Comment êtes vous arriver a Dallas? Klipsch is more available in Belgium now, than 2 years ago
  6. In fact my story goes like this: 2 years ago I wanted to buy a HT system and at that time it was only B&W I wanted (before listening to them), the 600 series. Arrived in the shop the 600's were greath .... until the seller swithched to the Dali Ikon 6, Whow wat a diffrence, and noticed that there is more than only B&W (with all respect) On internet I read that Klipsch was a well known brand in the USA, and started to search for Klipsch dealers. On the net I found a shop at the seaside (100km drive) who sold Klipsch. And again a new world went open for me. I listend to som RB35's on a Primaluna tube amp, and from that moment I knew Klipsch was my cup of thee. Afterwards I went to an other shop and listened the RF35's And now 2 years later I wanted to upgrade my system, but I didn't listen to the RC64 and RS62, I had confidence in Klipsch (and after reading a french Blog of a Klipsch fan, who does some research and tests and posts the results on his blog)
  7. until 31 dec 2007 AED did the import for Belgium www.aed.be Now it is an ex-employe of AED who started his own company and will import Klipsch in Belgium
  8. Bill, Just to let you know, I upgraded some stuff. The final verdict is A new set of RS-62 and ............................ A brand new RC-64 [][][][][][][]
  9. Bill, You are truely a GREATH man !!!!!!!!! It's Monday 31-dec-2007 and 8h25 European time (in the morning) and I already wish you a happy happy happy new year !!!!
  10. Yes, that's the right word: "Upgrade bug" !!!!! Lol But isn't that normal in my case ?? I can get the RS35 300€/pair (=$208) Picture is in the room "Today"(yes it's a flat, the neighbours hate me already) [H] By Oktober 2008 our newly build house will be ready. Stand alone house, so I can put the stereo as loud as I wish. Then the room will be: living 426 cm x 426 cm (or 13,98ft x 13,98ft) + dining room and kitchen (1 open space) see pic Will the room then still be too small?
  11. Bill, Thanks for the reply. 1) Doesn't the RC 35 match the RF-82 ? The RF 82 goes a bit lower and higher in freq. than the RF 35 but has a cutoff of 2000 hZ instead of 2600Hz. Is it that incompatible? 2) RS 35 is indeed the cheapest, but my wife doesn't like the shape [] 3) Is replacing the RB 25's by RS 35 an upgrade or not? How important is the surround channel? I was thinking, a surround speaker is a small speaker, and can't get the same "sound-quality" as a floorspeaker. Or don't you need the full sound spectrum from the surround channel? (how do I post pictures?)
  12. Hi there, My actual 5.1 HT consists of: RF-35 RC-35 RB-25 (used as rear surround speakers ) RW-12 I want to replace the RB-25 and had the following in my mind: I can buy the RF-82 for the same price as the RS-62, or I could buy the RS-35 at a blow-out sale and spend 50% less. I was thinking of buying the RF-82's and use them as front speakers, and move my RF-35 to the back. Is this a good idea, or is it better to keep the RF-35's at the front and put the RS-62 or 35 as rear speaker? I have enough space to place the RF-35 next/behind/aside the sofa Thanks for the advise
  13. @damonrpayne: Bert_d, is Bert and D is the first letter of my sirname ;o) article is pretty good advice, I will try it !! @ bismarck: specs of RF35 :37Hz-20kHz ±3dB I thought this was a full range. But I'm starting to understand that it is more about personal preferences, then rules. Oh yes, my neighbours don't like my RW12, but ooh boy, I DO !!!! (Living on an appartment )
