I finally got my speakers. I ordered 2 RF-62 towers, an RC-52 center, 2 RS-42 surrounds, and an RW-12d sub. I just want to say I LOVE them. I work at Best Buy (Unfortunately) and I've listened to the Synergy series speakers many times, and I've helped install systems with synergy speakers. For anyone trying to decide whether to go with Reference or Synergy, don't think twice...Reference is the only way to go. Don't get me wron, Synergy speakers are great, but It's now obvious why Klipsch designates the reference series as their flagship speakers. I now know why people that buy Klipsch are fans for life. I can't stop listening to them...here's the amazing part, my girlfriend, who doesn't give a hoot about speakers (Typical freakin woman) even said they sounded great.
Before my purchase, I was debating on receiver choice. I was juggling between a Yamaha HTR-5960, a Denon AVR-2807, a Pioneer Elite VSX-82TXv, and a Harman/Kardon AVR-445. I liked the Yamaha for value, the Pioneer for connectivity, the Denon for their reputation, and I wasn't sure why H/K appealed to me but I was considering them none-the-less (Maybe because they're pretty - lol). I did my research and Decided to give the H/K a try due to their American heritage (even though they are assembled in China) and their reputation for unrivaled neutral sound (Klipsch speakers sound great already, so why color the sound with the receiver right?) The verdict is that I couldn't be more happy. With H/K's underrated power stats and the ultra sensitivity of the reference towers, they are a match made in heaven. My local Reference dealer has their stuff hooked up to a Denon and Pioneer Elite, and I honestly think that The H/K sound's much more accurate, and it removes any criticism that Klipsch speakers are too "Bright." H/K and Reference speakers are a perfect complement to each other. I am hearing things I haven't heard before in movies I've seen several times. For anyone struggling with a receiver choice to pair with their new, or old, Klipsch's - I definitely recommend H/K.
Sorry for the Long post...I'm just giddy with my new toys...I'm sure you all understand how cool it is when you get your first good system. Speaking of which, I'm going to go listen to it now.
Klipsch Reference Rocks (My whole post wrapped up in three words)
