thank you all for you help, i do have omnimounts i am planning to use, just wasn't sure as to where to place them. my receiver only has the option for small or large speakers not actual placement.

thank you for the info. my main concern is sound, is it better to mount them on the ceiling facing down, or on side walls angled, or does it even matter?

i just bought a house and moved in, my problem is with my rear surrounds. the couch sits on the rear Wall so the speakers can't be behind it. is it better to mount them on the walls on an angle toward the listening position, or to mount them on the ceiling pointing down. hopefully i can finish the basement in the future, and have a better setup. my rear speakers are rs3's. any help would be appreciated thanks, and great forum.

i just bought some omnimounts on e-bay, pretty resonable for my rs-3's. it was like $40.00 for six of them including shipping.
