Guys, I have some one offering me Altec 19 for $1000 - they appear to be in great condition from what I see in the pictures. I don't know how to upload pictures but they look very clean. I think its a great price given the last one I saw went on ebay for $1500. Unfortunately - I am no longer allowed to purchase speakers for a while (partially due to recent Chorus purchase). Hence - I wanted to pass this deal on to fellow members who happen to also be Altec fans. Let me know if you want their contact info

Not that I plan on doing this but: Wanted to know if the black can ever be sanded off and given a wood finish? Just curious thats all. -
for example I found this today doing the above: http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/ele/355676727.html (searching for Khorns)

sometime if you do: "Klipsch+craigslist+(whatever model your looking for)" on google, that does a good job bringing up results.

search craigslist or local e-bay everyday for a pair of Klipsch. Doesn't matter what you have, or if you even need anything. I see myself coming into the office everyday and the first thing I do is go to craigslist and type "Klipsch" - thats how my days starts off every day, whether I need them or not. Am I suffereing from some sort of desease? Sometimes I seach Chicago craigslist simple because I have a cousin living there, if I can't have them, I feel better if he purchases (dont ask why)

Will definately leave feedback on the Chorus. The thing is that I could never really consider Chorus II or Fortes because of the rear passive radiators - Many have mentioned that they need a corner to shine - I dont have that option. And I can not agree withe colterphoto 1 - "ALWAYS pick up" -

rpalce and to everyone, Thanks for responding. I will pick up the pair today. The only reason why I was having trouble deciding is because reading old post too many people favor or the Chorus II over I and say how Fortea are SO MUCH BETTER.... but I guess people agree that $350 for Chorus I performace is worth it. rplace - should I ever decide to sell the Chorus after purchase, and should you still be interested in purchasing, you will be the first person I contact - and you too will be welcome to them for $350 as oppose to the ebay $700. Thats why I love the Klipsch forums, people here are so helpful and honest - its leaves you feeling way too guilty if you make money off from a fellow forum member (please - im not implying anything about the Hersey III forums). I'll be honest, I wouldn't mind making money on e-bay, but I will never seek profit from a forum member - people here are too nice. -
Hi guys, Wanted to find out if you guys agree if $350 for a pair of absolutely mint Chorus I worth it (Black/Orignal Owner/No damage at all - circa 89)? I was looking to buy one more pair of speakers. I already have two pairs Cornwalls / and one pair of Khorns. Hence, this isn't going to be my main listening room. But, I wanted to know if $350 was good. I saw a pair of Hersey go on e-bay last night for 370 after shipping. Is that a better buy? I've seen Forte go for about 400 sometimes a little more. Dont know if its worth paying a little bit more for Fortes and getting Herseys for about the same price???? Lastly, these a Chorus I. I've read the forums here about people favoring the II and so wanted to make this clear that these are Chorus I. All input is much appreciated.

Really - I love the way my cornwalls sounds and if these sounds similar, I am sure I would like these as well. plus I have a a HSU VTF3-MKII subwoofer not being used should I chose to supplement. The only thing is that I bought a Nakamichi PA-5+Nakamichi CA-5 for $350 today. Hence, a little short on the money. -

No takers on the Fisher? Please let me know if I have priced it wrong. Thanks. D -
Hi all, A month or so ago I had purchased a Fisher 400 receiver without the cabinet for $260 on e-bay. It has all orignal Fisher tubes except a missing 7868. Its in really good condition. Within three days after the I bought my fisher I scored on Fisher 500C with cabinet. I've been using the 500 since but never too the time to try of the Fisher 400. Becuase of missing a single 7868 and missing brass caps (which I am hoping my uncle can recreate for me). I am willing to give the Fisher 400 out to anyone here at the forum for $215. I hope that in not unfair price. The unit itself looks to be in super condition. All tubes light up. - I was going to acquire new 7868 tubs but never went through. Anyways, anyone local to the Washington D.C. area is more than welcome to it for $215. I perfer not to ship because this would give the purchaser the opportunity to fully inspect the item before purchasing. Thanks Dhar

Someone Local is selling a Nakamichi Tape Deck Model CR-5 I've always read good things about Nakamichi tape decks - he is asking $75 for it? Is that any good, should I chose to pass on it, did anyone on the form really want it? Couldn't find anything on in online but someone in Australia e-bay was selling it for close to $300AU dollars.

I'm just curious. I really dont see either of them go on sale much. It's almost unfair to compare the two on Klipsch forums but I know people here are loyal to music and not necessarily the Klipsch name brand. Please share your thoughts. I own a piar or Klipschorn but am always curious to know the the Altec Model 19 sounds.
