  1. I think there are a few issues with the 805 downconverting 1080i to 720p or whatever...but i'm just being too picky for someone who knows crap about receivers.

The only time the 805 downconverts to 720 p is if you have a component input to the receiver and an HDMI output to your TV. If it's component in/component out or HDMI in/HDMI out then there will be no downconverting.

  2. Thanks for the advice, I'm at work now and I will check the wiring when I get home. I also called the store where I bought it and the salesman is supposed to call me back shortly. If he tells me that they will just replace it, I will probably go that route.

One question, if the tweeter did blow, would I be hearing absolutely no sound from it at all, or would I still hear something like crackling or hissing or anything?

  3. Thanks, I will check the wires, I hope it's something that easy. Unfortunately, the Audyssey set up on the Onkyo's won't let you see the actual level adjustments made, it's just Audyssey on or off. I do have all my speakers set to small and the crossovers set to 80 hz.

Do you think this will be a reoccurring problem? Is this receiver to much for these speakers or should they have no problem handling it? I wasn't even playing it loud when the tweeter went out (though I have earlier this week), the volume was moderate and I was playing a video game on my PS3.

  4. i posted this in the home theater forum to.

I've had my RF-52's for about 10 months now and tonight one of the tweeters went out. I upgraded my Onkyo TX-SR604 to the TX-SR805 about a week ago. Do you think this might be the problem, can these speakers handle this receiver? Do you think the store I bought it from will replace the speaker or will it have to be repaired?

I'm so pissed, I finally got my system sounding the way I want it to.

  6. Now I'm confused. I am running a 7.1 with RF-52s as mains, an RC-52, 4 Onkyo surrounds and the Onkyo Sub that I will eventually upgrade that came with my HTIB. My receiver is the Onkyo 604. I currently have my Fronts set to large but the Double Bass setting is on to still send LFE to the sub. All my other speakers crossovers are set to 80hz. Now what should the crossover on my sub be set to? Also, if I switch the crossovers on the fronts to 80hz, what should the subs crossover be set at? Thanks

  7. Yep, I love the older Sega Dreamcast I have over 110 games for it. I recently broke down and got my little girl the original Xbox, but we still like the Dreamcast! Nothing like playing in 7.2 with the big Klipsch's. [:D]

Jet grind Radio, one of my favorite games of all time. I hope that they make a 360 sequel some day.
