  1. I'm located in Sierra Vista, 80 miles south of Tucson.Thanks.
  2. I realize I am new to this forum, but I figured I would offer this set on here to people that would appreciate them. They are in excellent condition, having bought them from the original owners. The only blemish on either speaker is that 1 is missing the tag on the back. The one that I do have is serial # 8811444 under that 145/ 26 [0201] [0215]. Unsure what the other numbers represent. They play perfect and the finish is excellent. The original owners powered them with a 100 watt Onkyo amp and preamp, I have used them sparingly with a McIntosh 4125 and a Sansui 9090DB.Never pushed them. I am moving in a little over a month, and I simply have way too much stuff. I can take some pics and email them, but my camera is a cheapie.I paid 300.00, I am asking 300.00 + shipping of course. If any of you are in southern AZ, don't hesitate to check them out. If there is no interest I will Ebay them. Thanks You
  3. Thank you for the warm greeting all. One of theses days I am going to make a set of K-horns( pretty handy with wood, shouldn't be difficult{ i.e. follow the blueprints:)}. Right now i have to move and am downsizing this mess I call a system+++++). When it's all said and done, all I really want is 4 K-Horns. Until then. Ty all.
  4. Any of you ever get tired of lugging around thousands of pounds( ok a little over two thousand) of equipment when you move?I rejoiced in it time and again, but it's time to downsize.Eight sets of speakers ( and no lightweights I assure you), and enough components to run 6 full systems( with spares). I'll spare you any more details:) One of the soon to be departed is a set of Forte 1. I am going to run them on Ebay, but I was reallly hoping for some suggestions on shipping. I realize most of you will say don't ship, and I do wish I didn't have to. Unfortunately I live near the Mexico border, and am far from most people. I have shipped speakers in the past( 2 sets Heresies, 3 sets of Sansui's, 1 set of Cerwin AT 12's0, with all but 1 shipment going fine.No matter how well you pack, stopping a 2 foot iron bar from skewering a Heresy during shipping is impossible. The Forte's are a little heavier than the others( maybe the AT 12's coming close).I am very skilled at over- mummification, and though I don't have the original boxes, this is not a problem.I was using ups, but they are notorious ham fisted. Any recommendations on a source for good boxes( and I do double box), aside from the hunt all over town and hope. Boxed they shouldn't exceed 110 pounds each. One last thing, how much is average cost for packing materials. Seems I always get screwed on that one. I do tend to overbuild. I realize this is a bit long and rambling, any suggestions/tips would be much appreciated.TY
  5. Thank you much. I am amazed at the sheer amount of information everyone brings to this forum.Outstanding!
  6. I would like to say Hi to all you out there. I have been following the threads a bit, having enjoyed Klipsch speakers for many years now.I have never heard the "newer lines", but have had many of the classics, with the exception of the K-Horn and the Belle( couldn't afford them when the chances came, and they were nowhere to be found when the funds were right). My Cornwalls are currently kings of the house. It is a shame that people have to think with their wallets or snob appeal B.S. and not their own ears when it comes to choosing great sound. My 2 cents.
