  1. I have B-2 bookshelf speakers for left and right.

The recommended matching center speaker is C-2 ($299).

Best Buy only sells RC-52 (for about $250) -- but I am thinking the RC-62 ($499 MSRP) would be even better.

The advice I've heard is to get the center speaker that is recommended for your left/right channels.

But if 70% of your sound comes from the center, why wouldn't I want the RC-62?

Thank you in advance for your comments.

  2. I have a BIC America DV52di center speaker -- retails for about$120 and sells new for as low as $70. I just saw a Klipsch center speaker at Best Buy. It was about the same size as mine, but about priced at about $350 and I'm thinking about getting it. Does anyone know if I going to hear a noticeable difference in sound?

  3. Hi --

    I have a Yamaha RX-V661 amp.

The front left, right and center speakers, and subwoofer, are 8 ohms.

I have five additional small SONY speakers I can use for rear left, right and center speakers, and left and right presence speakers, but they are all 6 ohm speakers.

    Is that a problem?

If not, do you set the amp for 8 ohm speakers, or 6 ohm speakers?

Thanks in advance for your help.

(NOTE -- I just edited this post because I previously and stupidly used the word AMP instead of OHM)

  4. Thanks for the comments everyone.

I just bought a new KLIPSCH RW 12d Sub -- and since I have a cheap SONY amp (too ashamed to lookl up the specs and report them here) , I'm planning on spending aobut $700 on a new Yamaha amp after reading what I read on this forum about Yamaha.

  5. My Sony amp has no sub out our variable audio out, only a pair of clips for a sub woofer speaker wire. So do I need to buy a new amp in order to have a powered sub, or is there some alternative solution? That is -- assuming the sub does not have a High Level Input.

If the sub does have a high level input, is the result just as good as if I used a low level input from an amp out? Or should I just scrap the amp and get a better one first?

    Thanks for your comments.
