  1. Hi all, I have a rather old pair of Klipsch 4.1 Promedia speakers that I absolutely love to death!!! I woke up this morning to my left front channel static hissing, even when I have the power on the control pod turned off. The volume knob does NOT make a difference, and the static hissing remains the same volume no matter what. I swapped out the cable, and the hissing is still there, I also swapped out the speaker and the hissing remains. So I have to believe the inevitable has finally happened, and that the AMP for that channel has died. Are there any recommendations on things I could check inside the AMP that might be fixable? Does this sound like a typical bad caps problem? (Which would be awesome, because swapping them out is no big deal) Or does it sound more like an actual BASH issue, where swapping that out is the only hope... (If Klipsch can even swap it out anymore...) Later today I will be popping open the actual amp and just see how bad it looks in there. Since my speakers are probably 8+ years old, I expect to see some gnarly stuff in there. Thanks for any/all help! Scott
  2. I built my own cables, from this article here: http://www.soundwise.org/mods/cablemod/cablemod2.htm
  3. This is actually kind of cool idea! How painful was it to do?
