  1. Hello! I currently have 2 cherry rf-7s. My friend has less then a year old cherry RF-15s that are in perfect condition. He's going to sell these for 300 dollars and that seems like a really good deal to me. I was thinking of buying them and using them as the rears in a HT setup. My RF-7s are just running in stereo mode right now. I am also thinking about purchasing an RC-64 center speaker to go with these. I have read on these forums that several people actually prefer the new center AND prefer the older RF-7s matched together. Since the RF-15s are the same generation as the RF-7s would these be good to use as rears... and do you all think 300 would be a good price? These speakers are in flawless condition. Thanks!
  2. Yeah I would have liked to go with 61s or 81s but the design of the room would not allow it. The speakers were just too wide and deep.
  3. Awesome! Looks like I'll be going RF-82s RC-64 and four RB-51s with the HSU subwoofer. This is going to be amazing!
  4. Thanks for the links. I just found that that it is possible to set each speaker on a small shelf instead. Would it be alright just having the RB-51s sitting on shelves about an inch from the wall? Would that amount of space be adequate?
  5. Thanks for the replies! My problem now is becuase of the design of the room we have to use RB-51s. Would these be good enough still? Would they need to be turned up a bit at the default level with the receiver? My other problem is that these are rear ported and would be hung on the wall. They are actually going to be hung on a 1in thick column that is connected to the wall. Behind the column is just air/fiberglass. Would cutting a hole in the column where the speaker port is allow enough air for the speaker? What are all of your suggestions? The bigger RB-61s are too wide and deep for the setup we are going to have. Thanks
  6. Hi, my parents are putting in a home theater and I was wondering what you guys would think of this setup: The room dimensions are about 15x19 and the room will be acoustically treated. Klipsch RF-82s fronts RF-64 center (I know the 62 matches but since the center is such an important speaker I thought it would be ok to step up. Let me know if this is too much and would drown out the fronts.. I think I remember earlier in the klipsch owner's thread people using this with the RF-82s though) RB-61 rears RS-52 sides HSU VTF-3-MK3 subwoofer My question is would the RB-61s match well enough with the RF-82s and RC-64? Would it be better to use four RB-61s and no RS-52? I didn't think of RS-52s for the rears (for 7.1) since the sound comes more out of the side rather then directly straight. Or would using all RS-52s be good? I'm trying not to use the RB-81s or RS-62s since they are huge, but if they would be the best to use with this setup I will try and make it work. Are the RS's bipoles, dipoles, or capable of functioning as both depending on some setting? Thanks! EDIT: I have another problem now...because of the design of the room and special columns on the walls I need to use RB-51s and/or RS-42s for the surrounds because anything else is too big. I know these aren't the ideal match but aren't surrounds the least important speaker since the least amount of sound goes to them? Could these be calibrated to have a louder default volume with the receiver? It doesn't need to be exactly perfect. What do you all think? I hope I don't need to get smaller mains and center =/
  7. I think I'm going to put an old CRT computer monitor next to my speakers then crank em up and see what happens. =D that should tell me
  8. According to the description http://klipsch.com/products/details/rf-7.aspx says these are magnetically shielded? What about electronically shielded? I want to place a desktop tower computer next to one of these speakers. Would this hurt the tower or are the speakers shielded correctly? Thanks.
  9. Very nice.. I'm glad to see I'm not the only college student with insane klipsch speakers =D
  10. Sounds great! Thanks for sharing. I think I am for sure now on an RC-64. From everything I have read it sounds as if it's even better then the RC-7 anyway.
  11. After using the RC-64 and RF-7s for a longer time period now, do you still think they are a perfect match? I have 2 RF-7s and can not find the RC-7 cherry for sale anywhere and want to know anything I can about pairing the rf-7s with the rc-64. Thanks.
  12. Is there anyway to get these in any color other then white? Or is there a special paint I could use to paint it black? I am not sure what to do here. I would find is surprising if these could only be found in white. Thanks.
