  1. Hmm, well it's a 26 x 16 room and I have alot of space in back of me, so wasn't sure if I would benefit more than others in that area. I'm in a 5.1 setup and my Quintet's are just back and above ear level angled down at the moment.
  2. Good catch. What about S-2 on the side and bookshelf in the back? Either the VB-15 or the RB-61. Obviously the RB is from the reference line, and the VB is a better overall match.
  3. Thanks. Any reccos on what would be some kick-*** surrounds for that room based on above specs/req's?
  4. Here is my setup -Epson 7500UB -Carada 110" BW Screen -Klipsch Icron VF-35 with matching Center -Klipsch Quintet III Satellites for surround. -Klipsch Sub 10. -Onkyo TX-SR605. Here is my dillema. Moved into a new house and got myself a dedicated room to expand my HT. Room is 26 x 16. Fairly large area. About 15ft back from screen with another 12ft of dead space behind me which is why I'm looking to upgrade surround with something a little more subtantial and move to 7.1 Any thoughts what would be good speakers to put in here? My goal is to fill the room with rich multi-channel sound regardless of where I'm at. Budget to spend is 1000. Obviousl if I can do it for cheaper than that, it is preffered. Eventually I'll probably want to get a new power source since the Onkyo is rated at 90 x 7, but that is another story. I've looked at the RB-51, 61 and seen some of the thigns people have done to mount these. Also the VS-14 is out there too which, while it is "matching" wonder if the Bookshelf will end up being the better surround in the end. Perhaps my speakers are crossed over incorrectly, but it just seems that my sattelites are struggling given the room and drivers. Is this likely?
  5. Thanks for the info! Well now the VF35's are sitting still sealed in the box in my living room. I don't have a huge opinion one way or the other about the removable grill. What kinds of differences are there between the F2s and the 35's. Is the 35 just a newer model? I can certainly go down the street and exchange them. Can also listen to them and if I don't like them go back and get the F2s for that matter. Thoughts?
  6. Thanks for the advice. What would be a reasonable center to pair with the VX-35s when I decide to go that route? Someone told me I could probably adjust the crossover frequency as a temporary patch. True?
  7. Hello, Currently in a smaller condo (700sq ft) and am considering upgrading the front L and R Quintets to a floor standing. At the time that I end up moving I know these will better fill whatever room I end up moving into as well. My current setup is Onkyo 605 and a Sub 10. Listening distance is approx 9-10ft. I think a floor standing model such as the VF-35s or VF-36s will allow me to achieve some fuller sound and an overall bigger sound stage. 90% of my listening is movies and gaming. Not much 2ch audio. Questions are - - Will I see a fairly significant improvement with the above over my current setup? I don't remember what the peak power/RMS. - Will these drown out my current Quintet III center chanell? Can I simply run Audesey on the Onkyo to calibrate/modify a cross over setting to achieve desired results? - Will this be too poweful or is there such a thing? I know I can simply adjust volume controls etc. Just curious what people think. The VF-35s are going for 299.99 a piece now. Just trying to determine if it would be a noticable upgrade.
  8. Hi everyone. I'm looking at the layout of my small condo deciding where the best placement would be for the Left Front and Right Front satellites. Instead of simply sitting them on the entertainment center where the T.V is, I'd like to maybe find 2 very slim, (space is very tight) modern looking speaker stands. Preferably black. Anyone know where I can find something for the Quintet III? Best Buy? Online? Thanks, Chris
  9. Hi All, First time poster and first time Klipsch owner! I am also a complete audio-newb so I I will try and not make any techincal mistakes. I just purchsed the Quintet III and 10" Sub for my small condo for my first 5.1 setup. I'm definitely excited!. On the couch I'm about 8ft away from the TV with high vaulted ceilings. I have two options for sub placement. 1) On the side of the couch beaneath armrest (easy access to sub dials/settings) 2) Behind the entertainment center/TV. (No easy access to sub) 3) Behind Couch. (easy access to sub settings) Question is with such a small living room since the sub is down firing does it really matter sound wise where the sub goes? I don't want to have to deal with changing sub settings all the time from in back of the TV since it's hard to get to. However, if the sound quality will be much better than I can move it if necessary. I was told that simply running an RCA to the Sub by itself makes it pretty easy and sounds good without many tweaks or worrying about crossover settings etc. Thanks in advance! P.S if anyone has reccomendations between the new Yamaha RX-V661BL receiver vs the new Onkyo 605 I would love to hear them!
