  1. I wanted to use the new 7.1 option in my Pioneer Elite VSX-49TXi Receiver system, so I recently purchased another two (2) pair of the Klipsch RB-75. I now have three (3) pairs of RB-75 and a RC-7. Let me tell you they sound sweet. Along with the Klipsch speakers I also have a Sunfire Signature Subwoofer. I primary use the system for home theater and with all of the RB-75s pointing directly at the seating area they sound amazing. My room size is 12 X 24. I recently have a pair of RS-7 but I sold them and bought another pair of the RB-75. The RB-75s seems to be more directional. The RB-75s seems to produce a wider overall range and a better quality of sound. I am pleased that I switched from the RS-7s to the RB-75s for the sides and rears speakers.
  2. I am planning on adding two more speakers to my home theater for the 7.1 effect. I am currently using the 5.1 setup and I have two RB5 II (front), RC-7 (center) and two RS7 (rear), along with a Sunfire Signature subwoofer. My receiver is a Pioneer VSX-49TXI and my family room size is 14 X 28. My question either buy another pair of RB5 II or RS7 for the additional rears? Also, I could sell my two RS7 and purchase four more RB5 II, so I would have six RB5 all around? Have any of you tried any of these configurations? I am leaning towards six RB5 all around, I think that would sound sweet. Your advice is appreciated.
  3. Well it just arrived last weekend; I upgraded from my older Pioneer Elite 29TX to the 49TXi. All I have to say is 'wow, is this thing awesome!! The sound quality is crystal clear in all modes. Big improvement from my older model. Great remote easy to use and understand. The chassis is very well made; inside very clean design no unused space. Very big power supply and so is the captors. New heat sinks are used to get unit cooled. I love the looks and the build of this unit. The MCACC feature was amazing for setting up my home theater. I think this one will be in my reference system for sometime. The weight of this unit is about 65 lbs; its a beast. It wasnt easy placing this thing on top of my Toshiba TV (TW56X81). I do not think my Klipsch speakers (RC-7, RB-5, and RS-7) and Sunfire Signature subwoofer have ever sounded so good. I only have the 5.1 setup for now, but I will be upgrading to the 6.1 or 7.1 setup soon. The 49TXi is one solidly built, serious piece of equipment! Bravo Pioneer!!
  4. Well I just ordered the Pioneer VSX-49TXi today; it will be in a few days. I can't wait till it arrives; I went and spent the extra money for the 49TXi. It should be here by the weekend. Ill let you know what I think. Thanks to all of you guys for your advice. Klipsch Collection: RC-7 RB-5 RS-7 Sunfire Signature Sub
  5. I too am planning on purchasing a newer receiver in the next few weeks and I am comparing everything back to the Pioneer VSX-49TX. It sure seems that its one of the top receivers. I have purchased a Pioneer VSX-29TX a few years ago and the unit works very good but I like some of the newer features on the VSX-49TX. The other receivers I am reviewing are the B&K, Denon and Harman-Kardon. I have Klipsch RC-7, RB-5 and RS-7 speakers and a Sunfire Signature subwoofer. One of the most important features to me is the lower crossover frequency down to 50 HZ. This will help in the Small vs. Large speaker settings. Has anyone found a good price for the VSX-49TX and where?
  6. Hi guys, I recently upgraded my subwoofer to a Sunfire Signature, amazing subwoofer. But now I got my eyes on upgrading my Pioneer Receiver VSX-29TX. Its the old crossover setting problem. I do not care for setting my speakers as small (RB5II, RC7 and RS3II), the speakers seems to loose performance and sound quality. So, I have them set to large, but my subwoofer seems to suffer because my receiver only has three crossover settings 80, 100 and 150. I feel I need a lower crossover setting to get better performance. Plus, I like some of the newer features on these receivers, especially the larger watts per channel, 6-channel and 7-channel capabilities. So, the receivers that I am reviewing (price range $1000-$2000) are Harman/Kardon 8000, Denon 4802, Denon 3803, Pioneer VSX-47TX, B&K AVR 505. I was looking at the Sunfire Ultimate Receiver but the Sunfire site does not give enough product information, especially the crossover settings. If any of you have any of these above receivers, I would appreciate your comments about them, Thanks.
  7. A few months ago I asked for advice on purchasing a subwoofer. My choices were between a Sunfire Signature and the Earthquake MKIV-12. I have just received my Sunfire Signature Subwoofer and what a fine sounding subwoofer. I only had it for a few days and I am still fine tuning the crossover and the continuous phase adjustments, but its hard to believe that there is a better sounding subwoofer for its size. I am using it for 75% HT and my family room is 12 x 24. You need to move all breakables away from edges, because the SPLs generated are truly staggering throughout the house. The Sunfire Signature is replacing a Klipsch LF-10 subwoofer which I thought sounded pretty well, but the difference between the two are night and day. I was worried about my purchase until I finally was able to hook it up. It is the deepest bass that I have ever heard and felt in my life. When you want it loud the crazy thing will absolutely shake your house. On DVD movies it adds unbelievable power and depth to the screen. You hear and feel things now that you never heard and felt before. Also, I listen to the Eagles Greatest Hits DTS, the music had more low-end presence than ever before and the sub was not slow. If you ever get a chance to demo the Sunfire Signature, do yourself a favorite and do it. You will not be sorry. Thanks all of you for your advice with this purchase.
  8. Thanks for the advice. There is not a Sunfire dealer located in my area, so I have not had the opportunity to listen to one. I am going to order Sunfire Signature in the next few days. One of the few weaknesses that I have read about the Signature Sub, that it is so powerful it is hard to keep it in one place. The cost is around $1,400. I will let you know what I think of it when it arrives.
  9. I need some advice on purchasing a subwoofer. My choices are between the following three models Klipsch RSW12, Sunfire True Signature or Sunfire True Architectural Signature. I have the following Klipsch speakers RB5, RC3 and RS3. I am not interested in the SVS subs due their size. We listen to HT 75 % of the time and my listen area is 12 x 24. I have a Klipsch LF-10 sub which I will move to the rear. Whatever advice is given is appreciated.
  10. I am thinking about replacing my LF-10 with a newer RSW-12. The Lf-10 is working fine and has great tight & accurate bass. Its about two years old. But I heard a RSW-12 recently from a local dealer and it sounded a little deeper and the bass that you could feel. The specs are about the same for both units and I can always sell my LF-10 on E-Bay. What do you think, its worth it or am I wasting my time and money? Has anybody replaced there LF-10 with a RSW-12 and are you happy with the results? My System: Mains=Klipsch RF-5 Center=Klipsch RC-3 Rear=Klipsch RS-3 Sub=Klipsch Reference LF-10 DVD=Toshiba 6200 Projector=Toshiba 56X81 Receiver=Pioneer Elite VSX-29TX
