  1. I called sound dist today before I ordered from vanns and today it changed to 3100 for the three. It seems like every time I talked to sound dist I got a different quote. Vanns matched the original quote I got from them at 3k so I went for it.
  2. RF-7ii x 2, RC-64ii cherry a stock 3k shipped
  3. I got the RC-64ii as well. I just sold my RSW-12 so I will be looking for a sub soon too. I'm keeping my eyes open for a SVS pb-12+2 or pb-13ultra. Whatever I find a good local deal on first
  4. Just pulled the trigger! Should have em early next week. I ended up going with a stock cherry
  5. Here's how mine sits right now. A little over half way done. Should be done by summer
  6. I do as well. My 69 Camaro is going to be black in the near future. I've always had black speakers as well. I am having a tough time deciding that's for sure. I need to decide tonight though because I'm ordering in the morning.
  7. Why were you wanting to sell them?
  8. Thanks for the info. I'm going to order them tomorrow. My wife wants me to go with the black (because our darker furniture) but from what I've seen in pictures the wood they use for the cherry looks much nicer. Don't get me wrong the black ones look great too. I wish they offered a darker brown color. I guess I'll flip a coin No prob. That's awesome your going to order them up now! Either way you'll be a happy camper. Is it through vanns that you are ordering them? I know it goes without saying but make sure to take lots of pics once you get them! Congrats again Yeah I'm ordering through Vanns. I will post pics as soon as they get here.

  10. Vanns.com They will price match if you call them and they have very good customer service. I have dealt with them several times and have always been happy. I returned a sub that I didn't like and they took it back with no problems and gave me a full refund. Truely a great company
  11. Is the grain on your friends a stock "nicer" than your b stock?
  12. One thing you will learn about cherry is that it darkens as it ages. I have a pair of cherry RF-63's that were mfr'd in 2007. I also have a cherry RC-64 that was mfr'd in 2009. Both same shade code, RF-63's are at least 3 shades darker, 2 years of aging longer. Just keep that in mind. Bill Did not know that. Thanks for the heads up.
  13. Gotcha. It looks like I have to go with astock though. If they are too light for my taste I will dye them
  14. Wait, is $3K for both RC-7IIs and the RC-64? If so, that is a good deal. How did you get that deal? Their website always lists everything for full price. I guess you called and asked for a better deal? I still need to order them but the guy I talked to said call him when I'm ready. I asked if they would price match sound dist and they said yes.
  15. What makes you say that? Just the color or the wood itself? I haven't been able to see them in person but in pictures they look beautiful imo.
  16. Call Sound Distributors and get a quote. I'm not a shill for them, believe me, but they're an authorized dealer and they'll cut you a good deal -- if you call. I got two RF-82IIs, one RC-62II, and four RS-52IIs for just shy of 30% off of list price, shipped to my door for free. The key is that you have to CALL. I'm not sure why, but that's how I got my deal. The original quote was from sound dist and then Vanns price matched them. I have delt with Vanns numerous times in the past and have always been very satisfied so that's why I was wanting to get it from them. Plus sound dist told me they were out of bstock rc-64ii one day, and that they were definitely not getting any more, then so happened to have one/some very shortly thereafter. After I was told they didn't have any they sold someone else one. Not sure what the deal was with that.
  17. Some time this week. I keep trying to find a better deal but I doesn't look like I'm going to. 3k shipped for a-stock is pretty good but I know as soon as I buy them I'll find a better deal. That's how it usually works and I guess I just need to accept it. Glad to hear you're enjoying them!
  18. Looks like that's waht I'm going to do. Can't wait. How are you liking yours so far cviper?
  19. Okay so nevermind. He just emailed me back saying they are bstock and he is firm at 3k.
  20. Looking for some opinions... There is a mint set of RF-7iis/RC-64ii for sale local to me. I know I wouldn't get a warranty if I bought these. I can get A-stock shipped for 3k from vanns with full warranty. The guy is asking 3k for used ones. My question is what price would make it worth getting the used ones if the guy is willing to drop his price?
  21. You're going to love them and Vanns is an awesome company to deal with. Congrats!
  22. I used RB-61s as my surrounds for a while and they sounded very good. I have never heard the RS-62s but I think they would most likely be a better choice for surrounds. I had the RB-61s just because I found a steal of a deal. Hard to find super deals on the RS-62s.
  23. Now you are stretching it. The RF-63 & RF-83 are a significant step up in the Reference line than the RF-62 and RF-82 speakers. I know I know but I was just trying to say that I'm sure the RF-82ii is a great speaker.
  24. I am about to buy RF-7iis/RC-64ii without test driving them so don't feel alone. My dad has RF-25s hooked up to an old Pioneer 185wpc receiver and those little guys sound amazing with that much juice. My point is that even the smaller speakers in the older Ref line sound awesome so I would imagine the bigger 82iis have to sound even better. They probably sound darn close to my old set of RF-83s. If I didn't have my heart set on the 7iis I wouldn't hesitate to go with the 82iis. I say just go for it. You'll love em!
  25. I have never heard the other speakers you mentioned so I couldn't give you any comparisons between those and the Klipsch. I can tell you that I have been very happy with every Klipsch speaker I have owned. I started out with the F-3s when I knew basically nothing about Klipsch and even those sounded pretty good. Nothng compared to the higher end Ref line but I was happy. From there I just kept buying and selling gear and am still "upgrading." Not because I'm unhappy with my speakers but because I am addicted to Klipsch. I blame it all on Daryl Lomer [] I say just go with the Klipsch. You will be satisfied!
