HI all. I have 2 questions on how to get 2 subs working w/ 1 receiver? First, this is what i have:
denon 2806 avr reciever (guess ill use 5.1 although i do have old sony surround speakers that could be used for surround-back)
2 klipsch F-3 main's
2 klipsch S-2 surrounds
1 klipsch C-1 center
1 klipsch Sub-12 woofer (300wt continuous built in amp)
1 Klipsch xw-500d sub woofer that i just bought (500wt continuous built in amp)
here's the story of how i imagined this working. i have a y rca cable in the pre-out SW jack of my denon avr-2807 receiver. 1 side of the y cable has a subwoofer cable going from there to sub-12 woofer and the other side of the y-cable has subwoofer cable going to the xw-500d woofer. also, let me note that far as in the back of each subwoofer there is a y-cable so that i can use the left/lfe and the right jack(line in) on the subs themselves. I then went through the auto setup stuff on my denon reciever and i choose Power Amp Assign= Front A and Front Sp= A+B. im not 100% positive if thats even correct though. (but i dont have a separate avr receiver for zone That is my first question.
anyway, i go through the test tone step to each speaker and notice when it gets to subwoofer...only the klipsch sub-12 is truly pounding out the sounds while the xw-500d(volume=+3db on sub itself, on receiver its like -15.0db that i suppose controls both subs) is just gently beating out the sound. i was reading in my denon avr book and considering connecting the xw-500d to the front L and R pre-outs on the denon receiver. is this a good idea to take advantage of what i have or just plain stupid?
