  1. I did just buy them, so my time is rushed - I have about 10 days to end up with my complete system otherwise I'm stuck with what I have.
  2. Also... The Rf-7's need 250 watts. The Avr 745 doesn't come close to this. Rated at 85/ch, I've seen benchmark results putting this number over 150/ch but that still leaves a lot of needed power. I don't have enough money to buy an external 500 watt amp, and then I would need something to power the new surrounds I would need to buy. I can certinally take back my synergy setup and get a full refund = so an exchange isn't out of the question = but the R-7 series was Klipsch's flagship a few years back - I can't see being able to find a complete setup of it for the same price as the F-3's or even close. I may be wrong-and if I am please correct me. I just want the best bang for my buck, and I want a system that isnt going to leave me wanting more in 6 months. A little story - I baught a bose system a few months back (which is now used as a 2nd system in a projector room) and it truely left me wanting more. I don't want klipsch to do the same thing to me. If upgrading from the synergy F2 system to the F3 system is a huge difference - I want to do it. If there is something better than the F3 that isn't outrageously priced - and much better - I really would rather go that route. I REALLY APPRECIATE EVERYONES IMPUT!
  3. Thanks for the response - Where can I go to get the Rf-7's. Aren't they discontinued? I have seen a pair on Ebay, but the shipping on them was like 300 bucks. Does anyone know of any stores near Seattle that would carry these?
  4. In case anyone reads this who is thinking about purchasing a pair of either the floorstanding or bookshelf speakers. I took the bookshelfs home for about a week (B-3). They sounded great. Today, I went back to Bestbuy and purchased the F-2's. WOW. They are amazing. I can't believe how much of a difference it made to my home theater. I HIGHLY reccomend ANYONE who is considering getting the bookshelfs to get them and then try the floor speakers if you have the power for em. Now I'm wondering if I should go upgrade everything to the 3 series (f3, s3, and c3) since I have the avr 745 on the way. Is the change from the 2 series to the 3 series drastic?
  5. I went to best buy and they had a F-3 setup and a B-3 Setup. The B-3 sounded clearer, more loud, and fresh. The F-3 honestly sounded like crap. Is this due to poor setup? If I hooked an F3 up to an HK AVR 745 would it be better? Better than the B-3? Thanks
  6. well the way I see it... I paid almost 600 bucks for the avr 247 at best buy - returning it tomorrow cause I just got the avr 745 from the ebay hk store for 740 bucks with shipping! I'd say 140 bucks for an extra 35 watts per channel is a pretty good deal, especially considering the original price of the receiver. It also has the original manf warrentee
  7. I had a quick question for you audiophiles. How does the lower end reference speakers compair to the synergy series. For example: RC-52 to c-2 rc-62 to c-2 RS-42 and 52 to S2 And finally the RB-61 to the B-3. As you can tell I have the B-3 surround setup and I'm thinking of returning and upgrading. I am also returning an HK AVR 247 and upgrading to the AVR 745 so the power will definately be there. Would that power be overkill for the synergy? What about the reference? Thanks!
  8. As far as the SPL meter... What do I do with it exactly? As far as the Synergy series - would you reccomend that I return it and purchase a low end Reference series? Thanks, Arron
  9. Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum and wanted to ask a quick question. I just purchased a Klipsch system and I'm wondering if maybe I chose the wrong setup. To be honest with you, I'm not that impressed. I wanted to ask a few things briefly and get your feedback. 1.) I just purchased a pair of B-3's with a C-2 and a pair of S-2's. Powering it is an Harman Kardon AVR 247. My first question is does the 247 supply enough power for my new Klipsch speakers to be happy? The reason I'm asking is because while my B-3's sound marvelous, as does the C-2, the S-2's aren't impressive at all. They don't get loud at all, and it seems as if the center and front's are constantly overpowering them. Even with them extrememly close to the listener. I also have them turned up significantly. The AVR247 is rated via HK @ 50W/Channel - which I understand is more realistically something like 85-100 W/ CH. Is this enough power? 2.) For the price that I paid for the Synergy setup, I could have purchased a Reference Setup such as the RB-51 or even RB-61 with a bit of an upgrade in price. Have I made a big mistake by shelling out all of this coin on the Synergy setup or would I be just as happy with the Low end Ref series? 3.) What do you think of the HK AVR 247? I appreciate everyone's feedback, and just so you know, I am much happier with the Klipsch setup than my prior installation. I am in no way saying that the S-2 is a sub par product, all I am asking is if the issue is on my receiver, or possibly a configuration issue with the receiver. I upgraded from a Bose Lifestyle system, and I must say - WOW. The sound is in no way compaired. Zero distortion, and much higher volume levels. Crystal clear sound. I must say, if the surround during movies was more prominate, and made me feel inside of the movie, I would be happy as a clam. The one thing that I can say, is until I get the surround issue settled, I won't be truely happy with my purchase. The bose system gave me more of a feel of being inside of the movie - even without as good of sound quality - and I know I am going to be flamed for saying so (bose sucks, I get it) Thank you for all of your input in advance! Regards, Arron
