  1. I recently reveneered my '72 (I think) Cornwalls and forgot to take pictures of the bottom of cabs before reveneering and would like to use old screw holes to reattach risers but can't see them (duh!) I need to know - are the factory risers centered on the bottom of the cabinet? In other words, are they equidistant from all sides? I seem to remember they were flush with the front face of cabinet, but I could be wrong. Info from labels on rear - C-WO-15 Serial #s 3L 735 and 3L 736 - they are mirrored pair.with vertical metal squawker and tweeter. Can't seem to insert a photo....I'll work on it (sorry- newbie here)
  2. Well I went with the Tung oil - 5 coats so far and am loving it! Might just stick with 5...
  3. Hey Klipschaholik, I assume that is Minwax Antique Oil?
  4. Wow - thanks Jordan! That was exactly what I was hoping to see! How many coats is that?
  5. Hi everyone- this is my first posting. I bought a pair of '72 (I believe) vertical walnut Cornwalls from a friend for $30.00 and have been enjoying them immensely. The internal components (replaced caps in crossover) and grills are fine, but the walnut veneer was beyond refinishing with lots of chips and stains. I re-veneered them yesterday in Cherry with the help of a woodworking friend (who preferred the grain over walnut) and they look beautiful. Now the hard part- how to treat/finish them? I would like to see them turn out similar to the 60's/70's audio gear I have accumulated over the last few months- you know the look! Does anyone have any experience with just Tung Oil on Cherry veneer? What about stains/dyes? Any other ideas? I would love to see some pictures if there are any. Thanks in advance, Rob L.
