can you anyone what contact cleaner is?

I get more static from my rear speakers as well. It gets worse when a hallogen light in my house is set to a low dim. I think it may be a result of bad wiring in the house. But why not the front speakers?

I have the exact same problem you are having. I can't remember exactly but it happened a long time ago maybe only 1 or 2 years after purchase.I think it is caused by dust / cigarettes and is a result of poor design but I could easily be wrong. If you wiggle the connector where it plugs into the Sub you will get much louder cracks etc.. I guess the only solution is ebay or taking it to an electronics repair shop. Problem with electronics repair shops is that sometimes you have to keep going back for the same problem. If I play around with the 3 knobs I can get each speaker to have a full sound.

I have had my v2.400 for quite a while as well. I should probably give the subs an inspection. From your pic it looks like it became brittle... Is there some sort of "conditioning substance" that can be used to prevent that from happening? Incidentally, one time a piece of cardboard fell behind my sub and was rattling and I thought my speakers were blown!
