This may sound odd, but I had a similar problem with my pros. I thought, because it started almost overnight, that it was my sound card. I took my sound card out and placed it in a free PCI slot. Plugged everything back in, fired it up, and no more static. I'm not sure if it was the sound card, PCI slot, or just a build up in the pros but it hasn't been back and it's been over 4 months. Worth a shot.

As for the wireing, there are a lot of post that cover this. Take a look around the BB and you sould have no problem finding them.

My votes for the X-gamer. It's the card I have and for the price it's perfect.

I would return them if I were you, just to be on the safe side. Even if it is your onboard sound that is causing some of the problem, it sounds like the Klipsch are doing there fair share in causing havoc as well.

It works great! And best of all it allows me to skip the crap software that came with my service such as winpoet. That program really messes up your system.

I'm running the Linksys 4-Port Cable/DSL Router. It has the built in PPOE so set up is easy. My host is a PIII 933/Win98 to a PII 550/Win 98, W/ a Earthlink 1.5 mg DSL connection on a Speed Stream modem. It runs great and sharing is wonderful. The VirtualCD sounds great other then the HD space it would take up.
http://www.buy.com has an OK deal on the Linksys but it's about $25 more now then it was a week or two ago. Check it out Here

By now you have either got an answer from Dell or gone insane from the music. But incase your still looking for a solution, you might try replacing the lithium battery in your mother board. The normal sign of a low battery is a slowdown in your clock.
