  1. I'm blown away. Some of these posted pleas for help get dozens of way-cool replies, most get at least some. This one has been up for some time now and has none. Wassup with that? Do I have bad cyber-breath or something? Well, fret not, I managed a fix and for anyone interested (since there are quite a few posts here about KSW 10 and 12 subs with auto-on issues and no difiniteiv answers), I sent the amp back to Kilpsch and they're going to do a reurb to as-new and then ship it back to me, all for $60. Problem solved. Aloha from Hawaii!
  2. After reading all the posts of auto-on and other problems with the amps in the KSW10 and 12 subs, and having posted my own questions (that were never answered), I finally discovered on my own that Klipsch Audio Technologies will do the fix. I told them the problem and they suggested that since shipping the heavy sub would cost more than to replace it (I live in Hawaii), I should just send them the amp and for $60 they would make it like new and ship it back to me. The $60 includes shipping, too. That's the answer I would have loved to hear a long time ago, so I hope it will be of help to others. Aloha!
  3. My Quintet KSW10 has stopped working from the LFE input. Then I connected it through the "speaker in" inputs, it worked fine and after a week or so that quit, too. Then I temporarily hooked up the line-out speaker connections on another receiver to the LFE input and the sub seems to like that. The bass sounded muddy, but that might have been the amp. So my quesiton is this: Am I going to hurt this thing by connecting the line-out-to-speakers outputs on the Hone Theater amp directly to the L/LFE inputs on the sub? Or is the impedance all wrong and it will sound awful no matter what? Failing that, is there a way I can get the schematic so I can have our local electronics guy bypass the auto-on feature and wire the inputs directly to the crossovers/bass driver? This was a pricey unit and worked like a charm . . . for a while. I'd hate to just have to add it to my dead electronics stack in the basement! [:'(] Thanks for any help here!
  4. The light comes on as soon as the sub detects a signal, it also makes a loud pop when the amp is turned on or off, but there's no sound from the speaker (other than the pop). I took it out to my shop and used the RCA input from my shop stereo and it still didn't work. After playing around with it, it started working so I took it back in the house and put it back into the theater system (Synergy Quint). It worked! Then the next night when I turned on the system, I got the loud pop, the light came on with the first signal to the sub, but no sound. Adjusting the controls to max made no difference; it was, and still is, dead. Any ideas? Is there some place where I can download a schematic for this thing? Can I disable the auto-start feature so I'll have to turn it on when I want it in service? I'm willing to do that . . . HELP! And thanks for any assistance here!
