The amp is a Yamaha HTR5740. The cd is a 5 disc carousel Yamaha DV-C6660. Have only had the speakers 1 week it's hard to say, it seems like most of the cd's I have played seem to distort at upper levels. Maybe I'm just playing to loud but I don't think so in comparison to my 30 year old EPI's. Will swap with the Sherwood amp for comparisons. I just expect more out of the Klipsch, doesn't everyone?

I have a Yamaha amp 85 watts per channel running my Synergy F2's. Hearing some distortion at mid to upper levels. This was an economy priced amp, will a higher end amp clean up the noise.

I just bought floorstanding synergy III F2's. Hooked up to my Yamaha amp 85 watts per channel {home theater system} Kinda of disappointed with the distortion I'm experiencing at 75% volume. Thought with KLIPSCH I would get more. Adjusted the inputs on amp everyway imaginable still experiencing distort, Do you think I need a better amp, more wattage to clear it up. I also have a Sherwood amp 100 watts per channel, haven't tried that yet.
