  1. Thnx for answering... My main ambition is to get accoustic rock and blues to sound good on my new system. That is the kind of music i listen to the most these days. But it would be nice if contemporary pop music also sounded OK. I rarely listen to classical music, so that's not a concern. I once heard a live recording of an accoustic guitar concert on a pair of Belle Klipsch run by a 2x20 watt 300B amp, that is the sweetest midrange I have ever heard. Now I really don't think i can get the Quartets to sound that good, but I have to try. The problem with the 300B based amps is that they are so expensive, that's why I am looking for other options. I can get a fair price on: 2x35 watt amp based on the EL34 tube 2x3 watt 2A3 based amp 2x8 watt KT88 SE 2x15 watt KT88 PP and the Audio Note P2.I think it uses the 5881 tube and produces 2x18 watts. Are these any good with the Quartets, or will something else do a better job? Cato
  2. Hi everybody I am thinking of buying a pair of mint condition Quartets. I also need an amplifier for them, what should i get? I have heard that tube amps will sound the best (true?), but will a 8w single ended KT88 amp be big enough, or do I need more power? What about the Audio Note P-2 (2x18watts)? Any and all answers will be greatly appreciated. Cato
