  3. Hi guys and Gals, My name is Mark, and I am a newby to the Klipsch forum. I've been doing a lot of forum reading (approx.31 hours in 16 days);and now its time for me to chime in. My very brief history is, I've had a rough road and lost a lot of great equipment along the way. What hurt the most was losing my pair of Heresy II's. Recently (november,2007) my uncle visited me and introduced me to "Craigs List". After he left I happened to look up Klipsch on "Craigs List Atlanta", and woulden't you know it; I stumbled upon a great pair of 1978 Heresy birch with matching angled risers! these speakers are like being re-united with an old friend. I think they sound much better than my H II's did. (Here is the meat and Potatoes of why I'm writing in) At this point in life I have managed to aquire a mismatched hodge-podge of components to listen to my Heresy's, and have noticed that the members of the Klipsch Forum seem to have a knack for solving sterio woo's, so here goes.....I have a decent amp to run the H's. It is a Harman Kardon PA-4000 (chanels 1@2 are bridged to provide 100 watts per chanel; H/K style with +/- 45 amps instintaneous power). They call this a 4 channel; but each channel has a left and right speaker hook up. That consists of the good part. Now I need help! I have no pre-amp; however I do have a 1985 yamaha DSP-1 and an Onkyo R-1 cd player from 1990. Oh yea; big problem.....No remote for my DSP-1. Translation- this unit is a big doorstop with out its remote. First Question: Do any of you happen to have a remote for a Yamaha DSP-1 tht you would be willing to sell me (Yamaha doesen't have it any more)? Right now I have the cd player output hooked to the front mix input so I can use it's level control as a volume control of the amp. Scary! Second Question: Do any of you have a dirt-cheap pre-amp that is fairly clean that I could purchase (or point me in the right direction of)? I find myself again on a furlow from work 'till at least the end of January, so I have plenty of listening time; but no new income. Thank you in advance for any help or solutions you can derive from my debacle. sincerly, Mark
