  1. Well I tried what you suggested (thank you by the way) I couldnt seem to hear a differnece by swapping channels. Then I downloaded a test tone cd. playing it and paying close attention to the 20Hz-200Hz range I noticed that the woofer movement was about the same between speakers but sound level was about 6-8dB down ( thats amplifier relative volume setting) from 30Hz-160Hz compared to frequencies above that. Of course that's probably cause of room acoustics or my ear sensitivity... It definitely doesnt sound like what it used to when playing my CD's though. Next step was for me to manage and borrow a different integrated amp from a friend of mine ( took him a while to bring it over, just did that the other day). Now I never have heard my speakers with my friend's amp (Carver cm-1092) but its the same rating as mine 2x100W @8Ohm and it definitely sounded a lot better than what I have now, closer to what my amp used to sound like. So... I'm trying atm to locate a supplier for my amp's 4 x 10000uF 63v BC components speaker coupling caps, one or more of em could of just dried up cause of old age i guess and it might be causing the prob. My amp is a Thule Spirit IA-100 and is about 5yrs old so im kinda close to their lifetime hour limit. Well I guess it was really bad luck that it happened during my cable swapping though cause it made me think of the speakers first. To be honest I'm still not confident on what happened but im concentrating my efforts on the amp for now. Any further suggestions are welcome. Evan
  2. Hi, Anyone here experimented with the crossover of the RF-82s? Any suggestions for improvement? A source to order original replacement crossover for these speakers would also be appreciated. Thanks, Evan
  3. Hello, I am a happy owner of a pair of RF-82 floorstanders but recently I think I may of damaged them.. I was swapping the interconnect cables going to my amplifier trying to do a comparison between 2 cd players and accidentaly touched the RCA conductors( the side not already connected to the amplifier input) to the chasis while the amp was still on, resulting in a loud static noise for a sec or two from my speakers. Now playing cds using the exact same setup as before it seems the bass extension of my speakers just isnt the same, it doesnt sound as deep and as full as before. Is it possible for me to of damaged my speakers the way described above? The woofer seems to be working ok, could the damage be to the crossover? Is there any way other then sending them for service for me to check? It's driving me nuts please help... Thanks, Evan
