  1. DeOxit does work great. Made a BIG improvement for my scratchy volume but unfortunately my left channel is still intermittent. Search eBay for "DIN PLUG REPAIR" and you'll find a listing that should help you out with your connector problem. (Could you imagine if Klipsch made cars and when yours needed repair they tell you they don't make your model anymore, they don't repair it anymore, and all the parts used in it are secret? That's some business model!)
  2. I too am looking for the same information. Did you ever find the answer? I have the original Promedia without the headphone jack. I'm only trying to replace the volume pot. The pot on mine is made by KIE. I'm not looking for an exact replacement KIE unit, I'm looking for the KIE pot's specifications. With that information I hope to find a quality volume control that I would mount externally and wire it to my circuit board after removing the faulty pot.
  3. Can someone please explain the Promedia versions and differences? I purchased my Promedia 4.1 back when they were first available directly from Klipsch. Are these old ones the 4.1 version and, other than no headphone jack, how do they differ from V2-400. Can a V2-400 control pod be used on the 4.1 version? And lastly, which version works with the CP-1 (or does both version work with it)? Thanks for any info.
