  1. No, Boa, I'm not sold on wdst. Never heard 'em or any other type of surrounds. I live in an isolated area far away from sound rooms and none of my friends are into HT. Am enjoying learning from this site, though---just read a post from Digger in which Horned Ed, Kieth, and yourself had more than just a word or two on the wdst topic. I'd love throw a few more Heresys around the room, but live in a smallish place, and that would push the limits of my renowned impracticality. It is more the size and shape of an rs-3, for example that I was looking at as a starting point, and was then going to take the advice of you crazy bastards that know what you are talking about---So, any other ideas for wall-mounted surrounds besides rs-3's? Thanks for listening.
  2. OK, John, I'll get a sub first. Would an SVS pci 20/39 be OK? Seems like a good price. Getting back to what surrounds: How would an rs-3 work compared to the ss-1? Any other suggestions? Thanks.
  3. Thanks for the help recieved here about 3 months ago. I've got a pair of Heresys I've had for 20 yrs. I added a C-7, a 3802, and a dvd player. Then I stopped. Now I'm ready for surrounds and after them, a sub. I know that another pair of heresys will be suggested (as they were for the center), and I know thats the best choice (I love reading the learned opinions here), but could the next best match be suggested? Unfortunately, they must be smaller. By the way, the C-7 sounds great with the Heresys.

    Pronto?

I have a long way to go before understanding how to best use what I have recently aquired, as anyone who has read my couple of posts can tell. It seems that alot of folks, though happy with the Denon 3802, and perhaps other receivers as well, opt to get a universal remote to make things easier, and to consolidate control. The brand name that comes to mind is Pronto. Is this the consensis pick among all you smart guys? I have the 3802, klf-c7, two Heresey's, and a dvd. I also have a C-Band Sat. (yeah, I live in a trailer) I can't imagine controling that with anything but it's remote. Anyhow, I would like to hear opinions on the Pronto, or any other remote choices. Thanks.
  5. Thanks for the replies---Doug-My TV (32" Tosh.) is about 7 yrs. old and the s-vid connection is the best it has--I just thought maybe I was screwing-up with opt. going in and s-vid coming out; I guess that's ok, though. I wish I had room for Heresy's for surrounds, but don't. Maybe rs3-II's? Watkins--- I haven't had much time to mess with the 3802, but am glad to hear that you can adjust the sound levels of the different speakers individually, because I agree, the center sounds too loud compared to the fronts. Anyone reading this can tell the 3802 has capabilities beyond my knowledge of how to use them, or even what some of them are. I'll keep at it though. Thanks.
  6. One more thing---Next I'm getting surrounds---any suggestions?
  7. I've had a pair of Heresy's since '78; in the last 3 wks. I've added a Pioneer dv-c36,a Denon3802, and a KlfC-7. (this board directly influenced all 3 choices-Thanks!) I've got an optical connection from the dvd to the 3802, and s-vid from there to the TV. Is that OK? Could you guys tell me the best mode to play cd music in? It seems that it sounded best with without the center, but I can't even remember how I had the unit set. I'm a little slow. OK, real slow. Any help with this would be appreciated.
  8. Just wanted you all to know I appreciate the knowledge gained from checking out this forum for a couple years. Now I'm going to use it. All I'm starting with are a pair of Heresy's I bought in Vegas in '79. The rest of my stuff is not worth mentioning, except to say my 8? year old Sony 5-disc cd player broke the other day, so I ordered a Pioneer dvC-36. My wife couldn't argue with the fact that we gotta have music. The door is open now, so next will be a denon 3802. There has been a wealth of info on what center to get---I think Horneded says another Heresy, then acadamy, and third choice C-7. Like others here space may be a prob. for the Heresy, and aquisition a prob. with the Academy, so I think I'll go with the C-7. Sorry to be so long-winded---I know I'll have questions as I get this stuff---pretty lonely up here in N. Az. don' know a klipsch from a coffe cup.
