i tried it and it works fine. does the sub/amp clip any frequencies sent to the speakers?

If i got my hands on a 5.1 GMX control pod, would i be able to use that for my 5.1 ultras. I ask because i want to use it to convert the optical signal from my 360 to give signal to the speakers.

Would this damage the speakers at all? Thanks, i just dont have the money right now to buy the rotel amp i want.

i am interested in using the 5.1 ultras in a 4.1 type setup. I will take the l/r rca from my tv and split it so it gives signal to both the front l/r and rear l/r speakers. My question is, will this eliminate the subwoofer completely? Does the sub onlywork if it recieves signal from the center/sub signal or will it just use a crossover on the 2 channels to produce bass?

What frequencies are output from the sub/amp to the two satelites? And would i be able to power two B&W 685's with my Promedia 2.1?
