  1. Thanks for that info:) You have some nice stuff there:) Love tohave 10ft ceiling:) Mine is only 7ft:(
  2. Thats the main thing, as long as it sounds good:) So you must mix a bit? I have five friends who are local DJ's , one of them came by last weekend to try out his latest cd on my system.. He liked it a lot:) He now wants a pair of Lascalas. I must add he made a great cd too, he is one of the best DJ's around , mixes LP's and Cd's and letely started using PC to PC mixing... I see your 300B's tucked away under the rack:) I heard good things about those amps.. you must like them.?
  3. That sounds like nice setup to me:) I wish I had a room big enough to try such a far distance apart (17ft) I've only seen pictures ofthe Belles and heard good things about them.. I am sure that Velodyne sub works pretty nice too:)
  4. Wow Wow:) that is one awesome theater room, music must be amazing too.. i am sure the you never go "out" to the movies..... Thanks for sharing that information and the great pics:)
  5. Thanks Pauln I am still experimenting with my newly purchased Lascalas (1980's), liking them so far, just ordered a tube amp:) First ever tube amp for me:) Just looking to see what others have tried with their set up. Never thought about tipping them, will have to try that, or having them so close to the walls.. Once i get my tube amp and install my AA crossovers (replacing AL's) I hope to have all kinds of new ideas and music to try them out with. Once i get things all set up I'll take some pics. post them on here. thanks for the great list of music, definately check some of that out:) If you got pics of your system like to take a look:) Thanks Mike
  6. For those who own Lascalas, how far apart do you have them (toed in?), how far from walls , and room dimensions, including height. Also what do you use for your source, amplifiers and cables. Room treatments? and what type of music do you most often listen to with them .. Last but not least:) name two of your favourite tracks or albums(cd's) that sounds best with them. thanks Mike
  7. Thanks Blvdre, that is a pretty hard offer to refuse, but i think i will go for just the AA's for now.. i understand Greg wants to buy them:)
  8. Thanks Craig, I am sure that would be the best way to go, but for now I would rather try and get a pair of the AA's partly becuase of price and partly because I like to take this improvement journey in "baby steps".. Even with the AL's I am still pretty happy with the sound from them, but certain things i am hoping to improve upon a little at a time. Since i got the Lascalas I've been having fun listening to all kinds of my music again, and i am comparing them back and forth A&B with my Paradigm Monitor 90p's.. so far the Lascals have the Monitors beat at almost everything except for some sublties in vocals and some other midrange stuff ] I plan on getting a tube amp soon then maybe a new cd player and then the ALK's down the road, and maybe even a new woofer etc.. I like having something to look forward to for improvements:) a little at a time Thanks for the info though:) greatly appreciated.
  9. Removed the back cover on my Lascalas and found the crossovers were AL type..I was planning on buying a Tube amp but want to change these crossovers before I do. Anybody with a spare set, preferrably with new capacitors, please let me know.. What differences should I expect going from the AL to AA (with new caps)? Thanks Mike
  10. thanks, looks like I'll be looking for a tube amp soon:)
  11. Thanks Bruce, Much appreciated:) I will change my capacitors , do you know of the best brand capacitors to replace with? and who or where can i get them from?
  12. I recently purchased a mid 80's pair of Klipsch Lascalas and I like them alot:) They are the most fun speaker I have owned so far and I am pretty impressed with the way sound with most types of music. Although I have noticed a slight chestyness to vocals. Which I hope I will be able to correct. Right now I am using an Onkyo TX-SV70PRO Tuner Amplifier which I have used for many years and been pretty happy. I know I should be using a better amplification source and hopefully I will be purchasing something soon. I've read a lot about tube amps being the best match for the Lascalas but I am wondering if i get one will it deminish the quality of the bass kick and dynamics? I always believed a more powerful amp would control bottom end better and allow a more stressless dynamics.. since a tube amp usually is a lot less power rated 8-50 watts instead of 80-200 watts in a solid state. If so, how would a Bryston 4B perform with the Lascalas. Any suggestions for a decent tube amp, under $1000.00 would be appreciated also.. thanks Mike
