  1. In a similar situation - read your post and wanted to follow up. Love music but want an AVR that has more video capabilities - as you describe the Pioneer Elite takes standard def close to Hi Def when watching regualar TV - That's what I want but want to make sure I understand your post correctly - do I ? On the fence between Pioneer Elite VSX-92TXH and Denon 2808ci but reads to me like the Pioneer Elite VSX-92TXH is the way to go for me? If you don't mind - can you tell me what Pioneer Elite Receivers have that differs from others in regard to video capabilities ?? Thank you - Dan Milo
  2. Greetings from the Windy City - would like some assistance in selecting a new Home Theater AVR - Upgrading our home theater system over the past few months I have purchased RB-81 Bookshelf - Pair RC-62 - Center RW-10d - Sub Keeping our 2 year old Pioneer Elite 42 in plasma as part of this new set up - 720i Having read seveal posts on this forum most likely will choose either Denon or Pioneer brand AVR as I want best match for my Klipsch and prefer the warm sound they deliver but I am unsure of the need for video upscaling? Dealing with salespeople and manufacturers rep leaves me unsure of features I need, revolves around video upscaling. Have been told by a manfaturers rep that my Pioneer is native 720i so video upscaling not a must have feature told by a retail sales person video upscaling a must have feature to ensure consistent quality video and get the most from my Pioneer HDTV - Wow - both ends - researching threads leads to to this forum - reads to me that these members know more than reps and sales - no surprise. From my new AVR I want to get the best quality image on the Pioneer HDTV and Klipsch sound. Any replies in regard to the need of video scaling and why it is needed when paired with native hdtv's 720i 0r greater much appreciated. Thank you - Dan M and partner the Klipsch speakers with an AVR that will make them sound as they were made to do. Appreciate any inputs members may have on the need for video scaling - Thank you - Dan M not a necessary feature as all signals coming in will be upscaled to 720 by the tv
