  1. These speakers have great sound but they also have a design flaw. My speakers just started to malfunction again (static, pops, sound off). Today, the right speaker has died on me! I bought the ProMedia in 2007. [:@] My last treatment fixed the speakers for a couple of years at most. Lesson: never again buy a Klipsch product. I've just ordered a pair of Altec Lansing.
  2. We don't have DeOxIt here. Instead, I used Kontakt PRF: man, what a difference! Problem solved, knobs feel so different now!
  3. Hi, I think I figured my mistake: I used a common, plain compressed air can - nothing as good as deoxit.
  4. Hahaha!
  5. 'llo there. I re-opened the speaker for a second cleaning. This time, I sprayed not only around the metal knob but also the area around it. A bit everywhere. So far, seems better. So far.
  6. Yes, I did. It improved the situation for a while, actually. Never again a Klipsch product!
  7. So, here we go again with the static and the sound cuts. I'm quite disappointed. [N]
  8. An update: I haven't had any sound cuts while listening to music. I've in stead noticed, when not in use, a light and short static noise followed by a total silence. At this point, there is no sound. I've to switch it off and on. My idea is that when the hardware goes to sleep- or in an energy saver status, the speakers are somehow affected.
  9. Hi, I think it's getting better now. Not sure yet, as they are not on 24/7. [8]
  10. Hi there, I've carefully followed the instructionsfor your fix. I didn't break anything I think, now I just have to wait 15 minutes before switching them on again. [8-)] Let's pray!!!!
  11. Hi there, another Italian here. I've been using Klipsch with a MacPro 2007 since october 2007. Great sound. Recently though, I've started witnessing some sound cuts. Not many yet. Switching off and on the speakers fixes the issue. Strange how such an expensive kit can fail. I'll try the fix suggested on this thread.
