  1. BUMP for some recent cd purchases:

    Cannonball Adderly: Somethin' Else

Blossom Dearie: Give Him the Ooh La La

Ella Fitzgerald: The Very Best of the Duke Ellington Songbook

Bela Fleck & the Flecktones: Greatest Hits

    Kenny Chesney: Superhits

Diana Krall: The Very Best of. + The Look of Love.

    Herbie Hancock: River.

Trying out some new stuff to expand my horizons, see what else is out there.

I'm thinking that is a handful of Great Music! Nice Score!

  2. What is an example in your mind of a dumpy down firing sub?

Just bass no music. In other words lots of thump but no actual musicality to it.

    IMHO of course.

OK, I used to have one of those! One of those smaller Def Tech subs. YUK!!! [:'(] But, then I purchased my SVS and have never even thought of needing to upgrade. The SVS blends superbly with the La Scala's. Sometimes I actually have to check if it is on and it always is. No muddy or boominess at all.

  3. Thanks Richard! When I got home from work today, there was a 12" X 12" box on my porch! [<:o)]

I have a board meeting tonight, but I hope to give these fine Records a spin in the next couple of days!

Again, Gary and Richard, thanks for all of your hard work getting these packaged up and to my porch!

  4. Now, I have to wonder if Richard made it to the Post Office with my package!?!?!

Well...er... ummmm...there was an issue when I took yours to the post office....

Those morons actually wanted me to pay postage!!!

They were shipped out the second day as I thought I could do. I forgot to update you, my apologies. I think that means, they went out on... hmm... Wednesday?

    Automobile............................

Thanks Richard! I figured as much. As I said, they will get here
when they get here! Now if you could just get Dave to give as a BAD
review, it would make the waiting a whole lot easier! [;)]

  5. Hey Dave,

I have some ECM Recordings, Gary Burton for one, the others slip my tiny mind right now, but they are always very quite and quite dynamic! I look for the ECM label when plowing through records. YMMV, but I have been very satisfied with ECM.

  7. Here is one of my favorites............

I don't want to get the thread Deleted, so......

Google Joey Heatherton Album to see this one.

They Call it Album "Art" for a reason. If this is beyond "Sexy", let me know and I will remove it!

  8. But more importantly, are they playable? How do they sound?

They all look Fair to Very Good. I'm listening to the first one, Rush right now and "Working Man" just came on. It put a big ol smile on my face.

    So far so good.

    Sean

    SWEET! [:P] I wish I had a Sister! [:'(]

  9. Hey Sean, Nice Score! But more importantly, are they playable? How do they sound?

I picked up about 1500 Lp's over the weekend and I am still trying to decide if it was a good thing or not. Most are in Very Good condition, but where the hell am I going to put 1500+ Lp's. They are everywhere right now. The good thing is they are from a very nice collection, she really loved her music, took care of them and we have a lot of the same tastes. Oh, and have you ever had to move that many Lp's? My back and every other body part is still sore! [:(]

Good to see you are building your collection and keeping those babies spin'in!

  10. Geeze, next you'll be stacking 'em up in the dishwasher!

UHOH, not supposed to do that?

Please tell me it's Ok, should I stop the drying cycle?

YES!!!! [N] I pull them out BEFORE the drying cycle, then place on living room carpet and run the dyson over them! Or,you can use the Microwave if you are in a hurry! [+o(]

    Clean as a Whistle!!!! [Y]
