I recently bought a used GMX A-2.1 system for use with my iPod in the kitchen. (I have a “real” system in the living room with a digital Panny receiver/amp and a pair of classic Klipsch KG 4.2s that I bought in 1992--that’s too far from the kitchen to listen to anything but the bass…but also the reason Klipsch was my only choice when I needed speakers in the kitchen.)
Anyway, I’ve got the crackling problem I’ve seen posted elsewhere, and plan to clean the pre-amp controller POTs.
But I have two other issues:
1. The left channel seems considerably softer than the right channel. At low volumes, the output from the left satellite speaker seems non-existent. Does anyone have a fix for this?
2. Also, if I replace the stock speaker cables, it appears I need a single RCA connector on one end and pin connectors on the other. Anyone have any idea where to get something like this? Or am I looking at the connectors wrong?
Please help! Thanks. Dan
