  1. You are Jonny of the spot. The price still sounds a little high, from all indications price should be on the $600 to $800. I would offer $700. It will cost me $200 in gas to get there. Thanks again
  2. I'm inclined to agree with you. Some of the pictures I've seem, boy they got real close together. I have been thinking of replacing the pre-amp (MX113) with a c-28, I believe the MC2105 is OK. Your right, the Forte II do sound great, may work on the placement a little. Thanks for the input
  3. If you could check them out and let me know (all the neat stuff). For the right price I would make the drive. Got any idea whata the Blue Book is on the La Scala's Thank you for the info.
  4. OK guys, need your help here, got a lead on both a pair of La Scale's and a pair of Cornwall"s. Both seem to be in good shape and at a reasonable price, anybody got an idea of what the blue book for these. Date manufactured" La Scala Ser#28w199, Cornwall Ser#31x624. Road Trip
  5. Well I guess I'll start chasing a set of LaScala's or a set of the Cornwalls. Anybody got a pair at a reasonable price and within driving distance to Sautee Nacoochee??
  6. I am located in downtown Sautee Nacoochee, GA. Better known as the big dark mountains of Northern GA. About 2 hours North of Atlana. Not close to anything. How about just another just another pair of Cornwalls if I can find some reasonable and close by. Shipping is crazy, I'll drive to pick up
  7. Hopefully, attached is a picture of my downstairs system. I have been giving some thought of replacing the Klipsch Forte II with some LaScala’s. With not having a whole lot of experience with them, I have read a lot of different stuff. You need a sub-woofer You should use tube amp and pre-amp You should use GOOD silver speakers cables and interconnects You should have a room min. of 20’ x 20’ Placement is fussy I am looking for some opinions relative this subject. The distance between the Forte’s is 10 feet, there about 1.5 feet off the rear and side walls. I’m not sure all the trouble (money) would be worth the end result, because the Forte’s sound real GOOD now. As always your opinions and comments are greatly appreciated UPSTAIRS SYSTEM McIntosh 7200 McIntosh C-29 McIntosh 7007 Klipsch Cornwall $800 worth of speakers cables and interconnects DOWNSTAIRS SYSTEM McIntosh 2105 McIntosh MX113 NAD 542 Klipsch Forte II $400 worth of speakers cables and interconnects
  8. Thanks for the offer. Please take into consideration that I'm old and very inproficient with the computer. What do I do when I get??? Down load to a CD and the put it in the cd player??
  9. To be truthful, my preference would be a great single malt and a Fuente Anejo 77 shark. Sit in the sweet spot and enjoy.
  10. Check it out, I did it. Wonders will never cease. Thanks again
  11. Being real new at this, I'm not sure if I know how write a short narative and include a picture of my systems. As suggested by some the proper placement of the Cornwalls is really a matter of opinion. Where I seem to get the best results is: speakers are situated about 11 feet apart, about 1.5 feet out from the wall, toed in slightly as to intersect a projected line about 1 foot infront of my face. That placement seem to give me good seperation that is still very detailed, the space between the speakers has good soundstage (Imagine, a month ago I couldn't spell soundstage let alone know what it was). I guess the equipment has a lot to do with the detailed sound, now if I could fine some good quality CD's (the bad ones really sound bad). Any comments or suggestion will be greatly appreciated. Thanks again. How for the pictures?????????????
  12. I'm having a terrible time trying to post some pictures, where would you suggest I post them??? Time for bed , I;ll try again tomorrow
  13. Thanks, I THINK I know what sounds good, even when I take my hearing aid out, just turn it up a bit. Any thing over 20 watts will run you out of the room The equipment seems to be setup OK, good stereo seperation while giving good sound stage in the center, with some of the XRCD's really sounds super. From my age 61, guess what kind of music I like. I do have some pictures, where would I post them and how??
  14. After being absent from listening to music for a long time, I have recently invested in some decent equipment (See Profile). I have a set of the Klipsch Cornwalls, I am interested in determining the date made. Don't ask me why because to my old ears it can't much better. CBR, Ser.# 8507840, Removal backs, 3 ports front bottom, mid-range horn made of composite material, I really don't want to remove the backs if I don't have to (afraid I'll screw something up). Cornwall placement, two trains of thought, in a corner or a foot or two away from walls. Is there a correct answer to this question, or just where they sound the best. Thanks for letting me participate in a forum where yopu guys know a lot more than I.
