  1. I've read all the posts about hissing and the BASH chip. I think that problem applies to me as well. Specifically when I turn on the amp unit, there is a crackle and then hissing comes from the speakers. Oddly, at least for me the problem has about a 20% chance of going away if I turn the amp off, wait a few seconds and then turn it on again. So I'm resorting to doing that 4-5 times until the unit works properly. Also if I keep the amp powered up overnight, it will still work properly the next day. I just don't think that's an efficient thing to do. I've owned these speakers for quite some time and they failed completely (no sound at all) after about six months, while they were still on warranty. Klipsch had me ship in the subwoofer (my expense) and they replaced it. Or maybe they just replaced a chip. I've read posts from others about buying a new BASH chip, but I have a few questions: 1) Is the BASH chip located in the amp or the subwoofer, or both (one in each)? If it is in both and one wants to repair the system, is it advisable to replace both BASH chips, or can one determine whether a specific chip is malfunctioning. If so, how? 2) For people who have replaced their BASH chip, what is the expected working lifespan of the new BASH chip(s)? It seems from my experience as well as others that this is not a long lived device... 3) If one opts not to repair the amp/subwoofer, does anyone have a recommendation of where/what to get for a sub/amp combo without needing to buy satellite speakers?
