  1. I am thinking of selling my UMC-1 since it is just sitting here since I got the denon 4311ci. I was going to use it some where else but I need some type of amp to power it and I dont know when I will be getting another amp. So should I sell it or still hang on to it? I thought about listing it on ebay or in the garage section., but Ii am not even sure what a fair price is for it?

  2. i am not using the umc-1 anymore I am running a Denon 4311ci. So I am not sure if or when I would switch to the xmc-1. The umc-1 has been to buggy for me. They want me to send it in to look at it but I dont think anything is wrong with it, I just think they have some hdmi bugs and issues with at least directv boxes that they never completely worked out. I will send it in still, so they can look at it but I dont think they will find any issues. Anyway the 4311ci has been working perfect so far.

  3. Ok, I tried some some searching on here but I need more info on the the pros and cons of these 2 players, and what the 95 does better than the 93 ect. Also who has the best prices on these units. So help me out any of you Oppo fans and owners!

  4. Does the 4311 pass video through it over hdmi when in standby? I have ruled out the 5508. Can fathom getting stuck with ones that has all the failures. I would rather wait till the 5510 or look into this 4311. But wanting one that will pass video in standby

Scrappy I believe it does have audio pass through so it does not have to be on and you can use the tv and the tv speakers.

  5. Onkyo has no trigger for the amps.

The Onkyo SC5508 does have 12v trigger operation for main room, zone 2, and zone 3. I am not sure about the TX-NR3009.

    Bill

I called Onkyo about triggers before and they told me that they do not have any receivers that triggers can be assigned to your main zone. You may want to double check with them, but those assignable triggers may only work in zones 2 and 3.

  6. Sorry to hear about your troubles. I'm using the next to the last FW version and I do not have any of the issues you have mentioned but I do not have cable either. Many of the umc-1 issues seem to be with cable boxes

I think you may be right there Youthman. If I bypass the cable box I dont think I have the issues. Thats why I dont think it will do any good sending it in to emotiva. Then need to do a firmware fix to resolve these issues.

  7. I picked up a Panny 65vt30 at Christmas . . . The predecessor with 3D . . . I had a Klipsch Reference 7.1 setup (like in My avatar). Bought the Denon 4311ci on an amazing sale which is still going on. The Denon 4311ci has been so successful as a leading AVR that Denon did not upgrade and replace it for 2012 . . . They just keep selling. EE is still matching the best online prices as an authorized online retailer for Denon at prices under $1200 price marked delivered, for this 3D enabled avr. There are preouts, internet upgrades, and a video filter second to none in the class. Oh, and if you desire, you can set it up as 11.2. Audessy XT32 built in. WOW!! The marriage of the Panny 3D, AirPlay on the 4311ci, the AVR itself, and Klipsch Reference (now Heritage) speakers, and my iPad has simply been an amazing result. I have years to look forward to this marriage of contemporary digital technology and vintage Klipsch. Good luck in your decision.

Who is EE? If i want to look at getting that one. I looked at them before but the price was a bit step for me then.
