welcome to the forum, sorry I just don't have any experience with the icon series, I have owned a pair of Rs-42's before and they sounded good, I just am not sure how they would sound with your inwalls, most likely they would sound great as surrounds, I am sure that someone on here will be able to give you a better answer than I did though... [:$]

....1 more quick question though. I know surrounds are reccomended to be about 1ft above ear level..if i get the rs52,s and say i hang them 3-4ft above ear level..still sound good? or will the sound be going over our heads?The way our room is setup, 1ft above ear level is gonna look weird, and make them stick out like a sore thumb...thanks in advance..
You may be able to angle them down mounting a slanted peice of wood to the wall and then the RS-52 to that...Then again, with their design you may not need to.
I agree that you might consider a slight downward angle, JMO

You might consider selling the 10" and find a good used RW-10 or RW-12 both are front firing with front firing ports, this will most likey help with your bass in the front row seating.

Depending on what your use is, you could consider a matching pair of floorstanders. If you like to listen to alot of music another pair of 82's or a pair of RB-81's would be ideal and they would sound great for movies as well. If you are mostly movies then I would suggest that you look at the RS series either the 42's or the 52's would sound awsome.
If you have the ability making some DIY stands are pretty easy and cost less than buying a decent set online, I made these over a weekend and weighted them to keep them from tipping, even with two little ones I never had a problem of them tipping.

I agree, the RC-52 is a great speaker for RF-10 and the RF-52, if planning on upgrading I would look to upgrade my center first to at least the RC-62, if you got a pair of RF-82's you would notice that your current center would not be able to keep up.

If your room will be big enough for your current speakers I would keep them and look for a nice pair of surrounds, the RS series of speakers are great, but if you like to listen to a lot of music I would look for another pair of 5.5's or 5.2's as they are matching tweeters and close to the same sensativety. I run Chorus mains and Chorus II's as surrounds and really like the way it sounds for both music and movies.

that's my delema as well, i am more a music fan, probably a 60/40 split. I tried the Fortes and the Heresy II and they did sound great just really cramed in there, just not a huge room. To bad there isn't a wall mountable speaker that is more in line with the heratige series that is wall mountable... Maybe it's time to look for a pair of 42 again, the wife isn't gonna like to hear this [^o)]

The RS series is great as side surrounds if you need wall-mounting capability. I had RS-42s for a while and they were great.
figures, I even had a pair o these at one time. So you think that they blended well with your fortes?

Looking for suggestions on side surrounds to go with my chorus mains and Chorus II rears, I have tried Fortes and heresy's but I am space restricted. Looking for a smaller speaker I can mount on the wall. If there isn't really a good fit out there I will most likely stick to 5.1 untill I can move into a larger room. Anyone out there mix reference with heritage and have good luck?

the rc-35 would be a good fit with your rb-5's, otherwise if you plan on upgrading latter on I would look at the rc-62.

I would suggest you look at the Integra Line as well, I really like mine and it has preouts as well which I have started to seperates. They have a really good sound to them.

I agree, you will want to have a 3 sec delay at least, When I was running two amps, I had a 3 and 5 second delay setup.

I really like the sound of Forte II's with the Acadamy center, but decided to sell my set and went with Chorus I mains and Chorus II's for surround. I have been really really happy with how it sounds.

I sold mine (near mint) for 375.00 about 6 8 months ago, lasted for about 4 hours on CL.

I really like my integra, same as above I just use it as a pre-amp with my external amp, but it served really good for both a 5.1 or a 7.1 setup. IF you can find a good used 6.6 or 6.8 I think you would really like it. Even there new line is decent at the 600-900.00 range.

Hello fellow "klipsch heads". It's been a long time since i been here and visited, it seems alot has changed. It is time for an upgrade for me. I have been upgrading alittle at a time and now i have a pioneer vsx-23thx reciever, svs PB12, and a sony 46 lcd. its time to get better speakers, heres is what i am looking at

My main questions would be should i spring the extra cash and get the Rc-64?
And would y'all do anything different?
I would suggest that instead of RB-61, go with a second set of 82', 42's instead of the 52's for side surrounds, and keep the 62. Yes, the 64 is an awsome speaker (no doubt about it) but the 62 will keep up great with the 82's. Just my .02 cents [

I would suggest either the RW-10 or 12, either of those would be a better sub the the Sub10 or 12. I have heard the XW series subs and IMHO the XW300 performs just as well as the RW-12.

I live about 40 miles north of Seattle and the LRD I go to is Bry's they are the largest Klipsch dealer in the state. They have the complete Reference line that you can audition as well as most of the Heritage equipment, here is a link to there website.

that's what I wound up doing with my rockford fosgates, I looked the the JL subs W6's, but for the price I got a smokin deal on the 15's. I built custom boxes tuned to around 22hrz and found the amp on ebay for 500.00. So for about a 1100.00 I got subs that pound, movies or music.

LaScala matching, upgrades, positioning

First off, welcome to the Forum, those are some good questions for sure I'll try to help with what I can.
The Bob Crites upgrades from what I understand are a very desirable upgrade and you would most likely want to upgrade yours to match.
Most will tell you that a third LaScala would be your Ideal center for Timber matching purposes, I have not had the pleasure of owning these speakers yet, but there are some other options out there that would work well to, such as a Belle Klipsch they are almost identical on paper in terms of sensativity, and they are using the same mids and woofer, I have heard a pair a Belles and they were awsome. I even ran a heresy as a center with my chorus mains and it sounded very good but eventualy went with the academy center.
For surrounds I think I would look to stay in the Heratige line, such as Fortes, Quartets or even Heresy's. There have quite a few that have mixed though and really liked the way it sounded, which is a big factor, how it sounds to you.
