  1. Thank all of you. I found a like new 805 locally. It made a differece in sound and picture quality. I have one s-video input on my tv so the satelite reciever (STD not HD) and my DVD (not HD) are run thru the reciever with s-video. This was the same hook up for the 602. The wife said the picture was better and the voices were easier to understand. I never said a word and she noticed. The audio is clearer and more precise from all the speakers. Music was improved the same way and I like the direct mode.
  2. If I go from an onkyo 602 (85 x 7) to an 805 (130 x 7) how will this affect my sound? I have RF15, RC25, RS35, KSW10

    B&K 507

Thanks everyone, I have read a lot of reviews on the 507. One review said as close to seperates as you can get. They say it uses the same pre amp as the ref 50.

    B&K 507

Has anyone had a B&K 507? If you have, what did you think of it ?
  5. An opinion please? There is a pair of KG4's in oak on craigslist locally. Look real clean from pictures. $150.00 I have RF15s front dual 5.25", RC25 for center dual 5.25", RS35 6.25" surrounds and Onkyo 602 amp 85 watts per.. Do you think the KG4s would work with this setup?

    recievers?

Thanks for your input about biwiring. I don't think I have to worry about over powering my speakers and damaging the tweeter. I'm over 50 yrs old and not into ground shakeing music or theater. Loud enough to hear the sound track well is all I need. The difference in the overall sound quaility of my speakers as I mentioned earlier is worth the risk to me. This is set up in our living room. The room is 12Ft. x 15ft. My system: 2 RF15s 46hz-20khz 96db 100watt 400watt peak 2 5.25" woofers 1 1" titanium tweeter 1 RC25 69hz-20khz 96db 125watts 500watts peak 2 5.25" woofers 1 1" titanium tweeter 2 RS35s 81hz-20khz 97db 125watts 500watts peak 1 6.5" woofer 2 1" titanium tweeter 2 Polk FXi30 55hz-26khz 89db 100watts 2 5.25" woofers 2 1" tweeters 1 KSW 10 sub Onkyo 602 85watts per channel Monster HTS3600 MKII ( I would not be with out one since owning one. Garbage in Garbage out ) Mitsubishi 35" CRT (solid oak cabinet) 20yrs. old gets a great pic. Pioneer DVD Directv (not high def.)

    recievers?

UPDATE !! I read a lot of the info on biwiring on this site and elseware. My center and fronts are biwireable. I decided to try it. Two days ago I biwired them. More detail, better low end, improved clarity. A cheap improvement in sound. Worked for me !!

    recievers?

Thank you all !! The RF15's are 96db 100 watts, RS35 97db 125 watts, RC25 96db 125watts all 8 ohm. These are efficient speakers. Maybe better power as was mentioned or a reciever that is delivering the rated wattage to all channels which was also mentioned. No blue ray yet, I have a 35 inch CRT tv that is 20 yrs. old. My DVD is svideo, digi optical and so is the STD def. DTV. The reason I was asking for opinions is that I was told at two big box stores and two local high end stores that a newer, more pwerful reciever would improve my sound. I was told it would improve the low end and help the mids and highs. The brands were pioneer elite, yamaha, onkyo, marantz, nad. I think they wanted to make a sale. Maybe they are all correct and I would hear an improvement. The only way to know is to try it and that will have to wait for now. Thanks again

    recievers?

Hi, I just signed up. I would like some opinions on changing my reciever. RF15, RS35, RC25, KSW10, Onkyo 602 (85 watt ). No HD, blue ray, std. satilite etc. Will I hear a difference if I was to upgrade my reciever to a newer model with more power?
