  1. i wonder what it would sound like if I moved the RS 42's from the surround jacks to the rears? I have read that Klipsch reccomends book shelf or bigger...but what do you folks think?
  2. Well 'ive come to a conclusion, after frigging around with the amp I am 100% happy with thesystem I have, I just finished ZZ Top again and WOW
  3. I'm usung the blu-ray for all cd formats, and have the BD hooked to the amp through the HDMI cable, HDMI to the screen as well. I am assuming because it works that the player is in hdmi mode? I will check and see.
  4. thanks, I did read that here online last night and have a cable on the way, and will be doing that soon. I was wondering if I should have the Sony amp, or keep the Denon, but as i find more features the sound quality seems better?
  5. oK thanks, got the sub working and thumping, I think I can live with it for a bit Problem I have now is that I just can't find the clarity with this amp(yet), It's lound, but sounds kinda loud too. I originally had a Yamaha RX V430. hooked it to the RF62's and wasn't happy with the sound. Went and bought a sony 2400ES brought it home and used it for my 62's and RC52 and thought the sound quality was great, but I had to turn it up quite high to get it, but the sound was clean. Part of the deal with the system was return the sony amp to store A and pay store B that price and get the rears and sub and amp for that price. So far with the Dennon 889 I just don't seem to have the clarity as I did with the Sony 2400es, It is loud, but sounds loud at the same time, Still tweaking the settings on theamp as I find them too though.
  6. thanks alot folks..lol... just what my wife wanted to hear..LOL I do have a 30 day satisfaction return on the system, what I will likley do is trade up on the sub..but I will be reading that write up again and trying that first Mike
  7. yes thats what I am thinking, but again i havent really played with the settings on the amp either, so there might be enough to passify my for now. Would I see any bennifit to hooking up the subwith the high level connection or should i stay with the 1 wire pre out? Also wondering if using bi-wire connection for the main speakers would be bennificial? thanks again
  8. hey thanks, I remember reading about Klipsch in the old sound and vision mags etc...but now later in life I find myself with what i see as a decent home system. I'm brand new to the Dennon line and find that the days of the bass and trebel buttons are long gone..lol. I just finished hooking everything up and did the auto setting on the amp..threw in the Live in Texas ZZ Top blue ray and am content with the sound but know that there are so many more settings to play with. First off is I want more bass lol and to clean the highs up a bit.
  9. Hey there, I'm from Canada and have just purchased my first "real" home theatre system, I have ooodles of questions but thie first is about the amp that I was sold, do you think it's enough? I have my reservations on the choice of amplifier..it is a Dennon 889 Again i'm new and looking forward to comments and concerns.. Mike
