  1. Maybe he is still "stormin" over the outcome of the game.[:'(]

    LOL!

I'm still here guys. What an aweful start to the season. Peyton looked good and the offense wasn't to shabby but wow our defense got ran over. But those Texans have been getting better every year so no disgrace losing to them they are a legitimate team.

Saints looked good out of the gates.

Should be a good season of football.[Y]

  2. Here is where I have been having nightly shoot outs between my RF-7s and Chorus lls!

    A great shoot out to see............or hear.Yes

Last night my buddy was over and the RF-7s blew us away! I just got Slash's new CD which is awesome btw! Everyone shoud pick this thing up, lot's of talent on this CD. He brought in different singers for every song and it's a nice mix of music. So we're switching back and forth and on song 3 with Fergie singing, the RF-7s just kicked us in the teeth. So I cranked it way up, like 5 on the HK "with the XPA-2 which is 300+ watts a channel" and the RF-7s were just BREATHING, I don't know if I've ever heard them sound this good. So we started the song over and switched to the Chorus lls and they werent even close. They started sounding shrill, the bass was sloppy, it just sounded like too much was going on. So that's another one for the RF-7s! The Chorus ll wins 85% of these shoot outs so it's pretty exciting when the RF-7 wins one. Smile

Have you ever switched the speakers as far as positioning and let the Chorus II use the corner as reinforcement? I much prefer my Chorus II's in a corner.

  3. I say this is the home audio equipment variant of a Jeep owner and a Land Cruiser owner arguing over who has the more capable rig while they're half a country apart, and they'll absolutely never put them on the same trail and see what's what. Same kind of masturbation, different kind of porn, and completely equal in usefulness and product.

Oh come on now. A CJ 5 or CJ 7 can't hold a candle to an FJ40 no matter what part of the world your standing on.

  4. In the past ten years I have moved through (in rough order), KSB 1.1's, La Scala, Cornwall II, KHorns, KG.4, Forte I, RF 7, Heresy, Cornwall I.5, Cornwall II (again), Forte II and now, finally, these Chorus II's.

They seem to combine everything I like about all the best Klipsch flavors: Distinct detailed music but without grit or edginess, great "scale" (big stuff sounds really big, small stuff sounds small), low distortion/high sensitivity, and that thing that happens with drums... like no other speakers. They make Radiohead swing and Beach Boys soar.

Ya never know exactly when and how the upgrade bug will sting in the future, but this feels like where I've been heading for a long time.

    Wheeeee!

Some of us have figured it out. Chorus II is a giant killer. I have been jamming with mine for over 20 years and if the good lord allows it will be another 20.

    Congrats.

  5. I understand the owners of the Vikings are flying down today. I bet they offer him a HUGE hunk of dollars to do it one more time.

Brett could wait until they lose the first few without him and see what the offers look like?

    Huge fan myself.

Thanks for all the great highlights. What a career and was a blast to watch.

    Enjoy your retirement.

  6. As far as the Colts being rated #1 they probably should be, looking back they probably won the most games. You can't really count the games the coaches gave away by not playing the better players after already going to the SB.

The Colts lost the SB, although it is the biggest game of the whole season and all other games lead up to it, it's not always a true show of an overall season. How many times have you seen a team make it to the SB on a wing and a prayer only to be crushed by the better overall team that played better all season. A toss of a coin can probably be guessed more accurately than a game or season.

Picking a team rated #1 is tough half way through the season and just a wild guess before the season starts. But they must talk about something, that's why they keep stats about everything including which way the wind was blowing !

Very well stated sir and thank you.

I wish your team well this year.

  7. And as far as the fan comment is that for folks that voice their opinions on many things about the players and teams or is it just the ones who turn over cars after a game and act like thugs? I've personally not had one negative thing to say about anyones team and have only had comments about my Colts.

I'm really starting to wonder about that "Southern Cooking"Wink. So much hate coming out of the south except for sweet ole Alabama. This thread was all about GO COLTS.

Lighten up guys I'm not the enemy. Hate Katrina, hate BP, I'm just a dumb Hoosier who enjoys the Colts.

I'm afraid you misunderstood my comment. It might bear reading again. Forgive me for the lack of clarity.

    1. I expressed approbation for a SB with two class QBs.

    2. I opined that on that day, Brees and Payton (the coach, not Peyton the QB) had more "want to" that day.

    Where's the hate in that?

I will, unlike some hard-core fans, acknowledge other teams and players than my own. Not pedantic. Makes for better conversation. I agree with the "experts" who call the Colts #1 preseason. Whether that will translate into going all the way remains to be seen. It's possible, I suppose.

Meanwhile, I'll be rooting for the Saints again.

I apologize for that. I did misunderstand.

As far as Colts number 1 in preseason I haven't seen or heard that anywhere. Heck look at the front line this morning. They don't even have Colts making the playoffs. This is a computer generated prediction from all the stats and players from 2009.

Also I live in Northern Indiana my entrie family is Bears fans. So I hear plenty and do acknowledge other teams and the good things they do and accomplish. This is Bears country up here.

Saints did good last year hard to deny that. But a team is made up of players and players can bring down teams. Reggie Bush isnt helping the Saints cause.

  8. ................. I'm really starting to wonder about that "Southern Cooking". So much hate coming out of the south except for sweet ole Alabama. This thread was all about GO COLTS . . .

Um........ the last time I looked, Peyton came from the South, as did Eli. New Orleans to be exact. Just what kind of cooking have you been eating to cause such a mental lapse?

Well hooray at least you got the name right.

The cooking comment was a joke. The last time I looked the Colts were in Indiana.(as of last night. Sorry Baltimore)

    GO COLTS!

  9. I love the game. I'm not too wild about many of its fans.

    Payton (not Peyton)

    Are you serious?

  10. 115 regular seasons wins in the last decade something no other team can say or has achieved still classifies as a dynasty to me. YMMV.

That's with giving away several games at seasons end to rest up for the let down I mean playoffs. A proven no win strategy.

As far as comparing back in the day as in the 58 and 59 seasons when Johnny U won 2 championships there were only 12 teams which is a far cry from the 32 of today. Another reason the comparisons aren't really fair.

    GO COLTS!

  11. There's no real practical way to compare players of different eras (in ANY sport) and come out with a clear cut winner. There's just too many variables.

Agreed. Its just another diversion. The bitterness of defeat.

  12. Two of the biggest changes are roughing the quarterback.Cliff

Also known as the Tom Brady rule. I agree its getting ridiculous but this rule has only been enforced since Brady went down for a season 2 years ago.

Now the 5 yard rule of 1996 has opened up the field alot. But in defense of the new era the touchdowns that have been taken away from these great throws from some of the great quarterbacks of this era are crazy. It would be impossible for any ref to see some of this stuff that instant replay is taking away. At least they didnt have to deal with that. You can't scratch your A$$ without the review booth seeing it.
