  1. have you checked the fuse?? you get to it from the outside, back panel, on the left side. it takes a flathead to unscrew it. that was my problem one time my one channel went out. but i have the same problem and probably need to send it in since i cant figure out how to fix it myself.
  2. well I've talked to tech support, and apparently the GMX doesn't have fuses on the inside... so I'm still trying to figure out the problem. If anyone reading this has the ProMedia GMX A-2.1 vs. the ProMedia 2.1, you're pretty much out of luck (the vibe I'm getting). The product is not longer made, and there's limited parts. I'm hoping I can send it in when I get the time and funds, unless its cheaper to buy a new one... :-/ Good luck to everyone!
  3. thanks. other threads i made sure to put ProMedia GMX A-2.1, and no one said anything. well i still don't know what the cause is. but thanks so much. i'll probably send it in when i have the time and funds. thanks again.
  4. So i have the issue of only one channel working. I've opened up the sub, and cannot find the 2 internal fuses for the life of me. i'm on another thread on here called "dead port ProMedia 2.1" (http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/t/118316.aspx?PageIndex=1) with pictures, and from what i've been reading online, the only conclusion is that my model doesn't have internal fuses? My system is over 4 years old (purchased feb 08) and the channel has been out for about 2 or more, and because of moving and shedules, i haven't been able to spend time on it until now. i have the model with the circular satellite speakers with a 3 point grill on them (vs the black sqaures); i believe the ProMedia 2.1 Computer Speaker System and the ProMedia GMX A-2.1 Computer Speaker System. could this be the difference, and why i cant find the fuses on the inside? thanks for any help/replies. -aree
  5. here's pics from under the sub (but i just flipped it upside down to take pictures) you can't see the back of the ports because of the underside of the curcuit board. but they're behind that, on the bottom right of the picture (behind the green board) -aree
  6. i think those last pictures were more what you wanted. lemme know if not. the bottom, of the metal box, i showed. theres not much down there. i took the box off. or unscrewed it but coudln't take it away too much. but it looked like there were 2 pieces of metal bent around each other, not held together with screws....
  7. well that makes a little more sense. thanks for sticking wit me. my satellite speakers aren't just back boxes, they're circular with a 3 point grill on the front. i think it's the picture on the websites page for the ProMedia GMX A-2.1 product. anyways. here's 2 more pictures. looking from the opposite end to the back of the ports. not much to see... unfortunately. i can send more pics.. of its nothing you haven't seen. do you see, from my very first picture i posted, the yellow wire coming from the diagrams labeled FUSE? (specifically FUSE1 and FUSE2) you might only be able tos e USE. -aree
  8. well the 3rd pic didn't work, but its just the panel opposite of othe outside back panel. youcan see it fine in the 3rd photo of my last post that was supposed to have 4 photos. at the top left... i'm not seeing any fuses.. i don't know what i'm doing wrong.
  9. the 4th picture didn't come out. so i took a few more. here's the top circuit board, that you see in the 3rd picture of my last posting, in more detail. the left side, the right side, the back. -aree
  10. so the top picture with the box is actually the bottom of the woofer, so flipped, resting on that box, the sub is right side up and i'm looking at the back of it. and looking from the top, you get the 2nd picture. here's more.... maybe i'll get it in the picture this time.. haha. this last picture should be rotated 90 degrees counter clockwise
  11. yes. it's the 2.1 . Thanks for your help. I'm still trying to figure out that you meant. A picture would be great if you can. Here's 2 more pictures of what I'm looking at: the bottom, and the top. maybe that will help get me in the right direction. and the fuses are that small? much smaller than the master fuse you can get to from the outside?
  12. so, looking at the circuit board on the right, there's diagrams that say FUSE i believe, but no fuses over them. theres 2. one yellow wire into each and then those wires go into the metal box. next to those FUSE diagrams are other diagrams, in pairs, but there are actual pieces above them that those digrams represent. i've attached a picture. in it you can see the yellow wires, the cylinders, and the other pieces next to the yellow wires. and all those wires going into the metal box behind it.
  13. thanks. i still dont know where the find the fuses. what does it look like? are they the big cylinders (blue smaller ones and purple bigger ones) on the right side? are they in the metal box? i'm not an engineer or electrician by any means, and this is my first time doing anything like this. will i need to solder it back into place? thanks for all your help
  14. I think one of my fuses might be blow. I've never opened up the sub, and don't want to mess things up. any tips? Do all the screws just come out and it should pop out? are there key ones to take out? thanks for the help!
