Ok so i have a small Home Theater down in my basement. A 100inchpulldown widescreen, with a Sony Bravia 1080p Projector, its hooked up to a yamaha RX-V465 525w 5.1ch Reciever, With the Klipsch Quintet 3 sarround system, with the Klipsch Synergy Sub 12. It sounds good dont get me wrong but I also have a Onkyo System hooked up upstairs in my living room that is a 7.1 system but i have it set up as a 5.1 system. (that system total was like less than half of what the downstairs system cost) Well the Onkyo system almost sounds better on the loud aspect of things. I def think the saround sound details sound better on the klipsch but not the over all sound. I dont know I am just worried that I either 1.) have some setting wrong, or 2.) have the layout wrong or somthing. the room with the klipsch is an abnormal shaped room. it is approx 18X12, but the screen is on an angle in the corner because the corner is on an angle. then I have the L/R front speakers mounted almost at the ceiling pointing down and slightly inward. then of course the center speaker is mounted from the ceiling pointing slightly down tawards the listening area. then the back two speakers are pointed also slightly down and twards the main seating.. The sub is off to the right of the screen and I dont understand whats going on on the back of the sub... what is the phase switch goes either 0 degrees or 180 degrees? and other than the gain(volume) I dont know what the other knob does i think it says crossover hrz. I did the whole auto setup for the speakers with the mic you plug in and it did the whole beep beep and white noise thing. Dont get me wrong it sounds good... It just doesnt seem to have the detail that I thought it would have...I spent a good amount of money on this system and was expecting it to at least sound a little better than the system that I spent 400 or so dollars on upstairs....I will try to get pics up of both setups later
Also note I was playing a DVD off my PS3 not a Blue Ray.. I was using the movie Stealth to compare both upstairs and down... the planes and explosions in the begginging of that movie are insane... Also if anyone can help I had the volume on -20. DB's.. and cranked it up to I think -8or9.5 db's...system goes from -80 dbs to +16 dbs...
