All you guys have been great with all the infor. The denon is sounding great and working very well. I still at times miss all the toys the sony has on it. I was buying a denon for the sound, not for the bells and toys. I am happy with my choice so far. Thanks once again.

Hello all, Thanks for all the advice. I went with the Denon 3801 and a pioneer dv-d36. I still have the sony da555es and the sound is un-natuarl and fake(not bad just different) sounding. The denon sounds more true to life. I love the 7ch stereo. I went to the local hifi store and listen to the yam. I kinda heard the the sony sound to it. I was told the yam stills processes the music in 5ch and 7ch modes. The yam has more toys on it like the sony too. The Denon just seemed better. I didn't mean to start anything. I just bought a house and love music. here is what I have so far. sony 36 xbr4oo Playstation 2 Pioneer cld501 laser too pioneer dv-05 elite(for sale) sony da555es (sold) Most likely denon 3801? sony 795hf too mirage om-10 mirage om-3 center klipsch quintets ( nice ht system) most like switch to pardign rears 12 ksw sub (nice) other room Harman/kardon pm665 vxi amp philps CD-I photo c/d waste of money player h/k tuner sony mini disk mz-1 recorder never used scott speakers (old but classic) epiture model 4 speaker(sounds kickass) now get this a Jensen audio/video/monitor intergraded system Real high end in the 80's and the picture is almost as good 36 xbr.Playstation one. Thanks for the infor, the denon I can for $822.95 to the door and a yam v3000 $1378 to th door or yam v1000 $668. choices?

Money is not the problem. I've had old denon stuff before and never had yam. I know it is what I like to heard,I was just wondering what other people had to say about the eq. People complain about the sony da555es. I NEVER had one problem. I just want something newer or with a true 4/5 ch amp for cd listening. Audioreview.com was helpful but people seem a little brighter ( I Hope) at times. I just want to be happy again.

Hello everyone, I have listen to both denon 3801 and yam av-1000. Which one is better for ht and cd listening. I heard denon does not add un natural sounds in their 5 ch mode. I just sold my da-555es. What is better? Please help or the best bang for buck?

Doug, That does seem a little to wild for me. I'm a first time home owner and i can barely fit what I have in the house now. Thanks for all the help. Any other infor on making my system sound better is well taken. Do you know of any other good sites to check out about HT. Besides audioreview.com. They are very helpful. If any one wants to buy HK amp and pre amp let me know. I also have some extra quintets and epiture 4 speakers and other odds and end laying around

Takes for the help. I have an other set of speakers, but it seems like a waste of money to run it that way. Does other avreceivers work this way too. Is there no 4 channel mode on sony without using the a&b switch.

Hello, I have a str da555es dv-05 sony 36 xbr I got a hold of ht set of quintets with a ksw-12. In the last month I found mirage om-10 speakers for 450 a set. I'm using those as the fronts but I did not replace my center of rears. I was told to match everything? How important is that. to match just the front and center or all speakers? Also I need help with the working of the str da-555es. please help thank you.
