  1. Hi, thanks for the reply. Honestly, I once had a Marantz 2265 (mid 70s) and I didn't like it that much. It was pretty good sounding, don't get me wrong. But it was less detailed, less natural, and less precise than my early 90s Denon integrated, which sounds similar to a NAD 326BEE. At low volume voices were less clear. However, it was very smooth, warm, with a huge soundstage. Strangely, my marantz surround receiver was more precise than this old Marantz which people praise. Didn,t have klipsch speaker at that time, only a pair of B&W. In fact, I'm looking for all the smoothness, warmth, big soundstage (and voices having a big footprint in the overall soundstage) of the old marantz with the precision and details of my Denon. I thought 80s Marantz would be more precise sounding than their 70s counterparts. Maybe I should go with a "newer" Marantz integrated? Like a late 80s or 90s Marantz within their PM series? They have a torroidal tranformer I think, which would help maybe.
  2. Hi, I have an early 90s Denon integrated amplifier at 125 watts per channel that runs my Klipsch rf-82. Sometimes I find it "thin", especially voices have appear small in the soundstage and are less prononced than instruments. It's not that bad, just annoying sometimes. I heard a lot a good things about the Marantz-Klipsch combo, and I have the opportunity to buy for 60$ a Marantz PM750DC (early 80s) rated at 80 watts per channel. Would that be an improvement? Marantz seems to be warmer than Denon from what I read...
  3. Hi again folks! So I've listen again to the cv: clean powerful sound, but undetailed. Well not enough detailed for me, espacially compared to b&w speakers. Sounds like when your in a bar. I've listened to RF-62 and rf-82, fell in love with the rf82. So I brought them home (and got a sweet deal on them let me tell you!). I use a denon amp. I compared them side by side with my b&w 602.5: there's simply no comparison! The rf-82 have the same amount of detail, but they are 10 times more alive sounding that my b&w! And they have so much bass! These speakers are incredible, especially for the price, and they haven't pass the break-in period (they just did their first hour).Their sound is clear, detailed, warm, forward sounding: feels like you are in a live show (but with better sound quality!). I'm in heaven!
  4. thx for your input! Anyone else has an opinion on this?
  5. Hi there! first post: I've never own klipsch or cerwin speakers. I like what I've heard from both of them. I actually own b&w 602.5. I like their natural and detailed sound but they do not rock enough for me. When younger I had traditional design speakers (3 way with 12 inches woofers). I want to buy a new pair of speakers to replace my b&w. I want more live sound and punchy sound with still some details (without going over $1500) I like the Klipsch Rf-62. But I'm interested in the CV xls-15 too. Anybody knows how they compare (well at least how the actual cls and klipsch reference might compare)? Someone tested them bot? BTW, I use a denon stereo amp (pma serie). Thanks a lot for your help folks! Here are some surprisingly impressive reviews of the cerwin vega cls speakers: http://www.soundstage.com/revequip/cerwinvega_cls215.htm http://www.onspeakers.com/product-reviews/stereo-speakers/cerwin-vega-cls-215.html http://www.avguide.com/review/tested-cerwin-vega-cls-215-loudspeaker http://hifitest.de/index.php?section=showtest&id=352&a=Einzeltest
