I recently finished my HT setup, I have the same Denon rcvr, Forte' 1's front, Academy center and KG-3's surrounds in a 12 x 12 semi-octagonal room.
It's sounded pretty good (esp. music) - but movies seemed to lack a little - 2 weeks ago a local HT company had a closeout sale of equipment and I was able to purchase a RW-10 for ~$200 - what a difference it made.
Regards,
Shawn
I would like to clarify - I only use the sub for movie LFE, It made a huge improvement - but I would recommend a 12" SUB and will probably upgrade to one once the $ is available. ( the 10" does pretty good, but I have seen some limitations - esp. Darla tapping on aquarium on Nemo DVD)

Randy,
I'm not sure were you are located or if you have the speakers yet - there is currently a listing on e-bay for a set of Oiled Oak Forte II and an Oiled Oak Academy out of Pine Colorado, local pick-up only (no affiliation) ~$460.00

Shawn

Randy,
I just finished completing my HT setup with Forte' 1's in front, Academy as a center and KG-3's as surrounds and a RW-10 sub in a 12 x 12 room.
Sounds great, I also had a hard time finding a stand, I came across a pretty good one (search for Bello - Pamari 44" TV Stand) I have a 50" Sony DLP on it. with the Acdamey in the center shelf and all my components on the lower shelf.
I have photos - I can upload later if you'd like (at work now)
Regards,
Shawn

I have Forte I's for fronts, Academy for center and KG3's for surrounds (no sub yet). my room is 12 x12.
I have narrowed my selection down to the following AVR's (price limitation)
Denon AVR-1910 (~$410 shipped) or the Onyko TX-SR607 (~$399 shipped)
I am unable to listen to either prior to purchase, I have heard that Denon has a better sound with the older klipsch speakers.
Any thoughts would be helpful.
Thanks

Thanks,
Is there a recommended "timbre matched" center speaker available for the Forte's ?

I am the original owner of a pair of Forte's (OW - purchased 1988) and a pair of KG3 (OW - purchased in 1992). Used with Carver CT-7 and M-.5T for 2 channel audio.
I recently inherited a Sony KDFE50-A10 DLP HDTV , a Sony SAVA 500 HT system and a set of Bose 6.2 and JBL J2050 speakers.
I have a 12 x 12 den, which wifey says I can convert into a theater.
I have a limited budget and am considering either an Oynko TXSR607 (available locally new ~$400) or a Sony DH800 AV receiver.
A couple of questions?
1. Can/should I use the J2050's as center channel?
2. I was thinking Fortes as fronts and KG3 as rears.
3. Should I trash the Bose, and do a 5 channel setup or use the bose as surrounds?
4. The Forte's do well with low end - do I need a Sub?
5. Any recommendations/rejections on the AV receivers?
Thanks for any input.

Still no correct answer for the Grateful Dead question.
I'm guessing Germany - large european county with a lot of US citizens there at the time.
