  1. So everybody, here is the situation I find myself in... Im a college student in a single bedroom apartment with plans of moving into a two bedroom apartment next year. Im putting together a modest 5.1 system for movies and games and, of course, music. Unlike a lot of college students I dont love the big banging noise of 4 12" subwoofers and a set of tweeters mounted haphazardly on the dash of a honda civic. I guess my tastes are more...uhh...refined. I grew up and my dad had a set of klipsch quartets. Play them so loud I couldnt hear myself scream...good times. I guess he wore off on me. First set of speakers I got were klipsch synergy III B-2's and I still have them and love them to this day. I have a decent yamaha htr-6480 (i think if i remember right) but I made a mistake. I bought a set of bose 201's...about a year and a half ago =[ I thought the bigger woofers would complement the exquisite color of my b-2s...I know now I was wrong. So forum I need your help, My birthday is coming up and my dad being who he is sorta has a soft spot for audio equipment and I was thinking about putting another componenet into my 5.1 system. I was thinking either a set of b-3s cause I can get them for about 180 right now, or perhaps a c-2 center? Eventually I wanna get rid of my bose or use them with my computer or something. They are nice stand alones but just dont do it for me like the klipsch's. I also am a fan of polk audio. Seems like they have some nice mid range centers that sound better than even some klipsch (dont care much for the icons, listened to em at best buy and a cheaper polk beat em out sadly) but I dont know if I should get say a set of polk RTi4s and a cs3i center and just move my b-2s to the back? If I wanna stick with klipsch I would probably want a set of b-3s for my fronts, and a c-2 for my center but the c-1 is $80 (vs $200 for the c-2) on amazon. 50 watt rms is kinda low but in an apartment I dont get to take advantage of my sound super often anyway. Its an aggrevating life but, alas, I digress... SO...Final question, go with the polks which I like fairly well ($270 for fronts and center), dont limit my system and hold out for a b-3 and c-2 ($380), reduce my max power to 50 watts rms and go for a c-1 and possibly s-1 or again, the b-3s ($230-$260 repectfully) or give up and go back to writing my physics lab report (priceless). As far as the subwoofer is concerned I will probably buy one this summer when I can work more...no worries there for right now. Sorry about the long post. You guys rock so I know you will help me out here. Cheers, Dan
