  1. Thanks Bill, that looks like a great deal, but it came too late, I went with the 708, the salesman threw in a hundred dollars worth of cables I needed for free, so he made me an off I couldn't refuse, got home last night and I will be hooking it up today, thanks everybody for your input on very short notice, it really helped make my decision easier, this is a great forum, thanks again. Gary

  2. Hi, I need help ASAP, I am vacationing in Mackinaw, and going back to Canada Sunday morning and I can get either a Onkyo 708 for $600 or a Denon 891 for $700, what is the best bang for the money, I am using RF7's for the mains RC7- centre, RF82's for rears and RS52's for the sides, 90% HT, 10% music, I am leaving Sunday morning, so if anybody can help me before 9am sunday morning it would be great, thanks in advance.

  3. Thanks Bill, I am not sure as to what I should do, I have RF-7's front, RC-7 centre, I will either have RS-52's or RS-7's for surrounds and RF-82's for rear, Klipsch RW-12d and Velodyne DPS-12 subs, I am using a pioneer vsx1016txv receiver, I would like to upgrade the receiver and add a amp if I need to, buI have no idea what would work best, I would like to keep the cost to under $1200 for the receiver and amp any suggestions would be great.

  4. Hi everybody, I have very little knowledge when it comes to amps so I need some help, I have RF-7 for my fronts RC-7 for my center going to have either RS-7's or RS-52's for my sides and maybe RF-82's for my rears and I am using a pioneer vsx-1018-txv receiver would this be good to get Yamaha amp M40 600 watts,6 channel,Yamaha pre amp C40, would this help add power to my system and be good for 7.2 surround, any help would be great, thank you in advance.

  5. Hi, I came across a pair of RF-7's, that I went and checked out, but they are in a little rough shape, and need to know if I buy them, can they be fixed up, one of the dust caps on a woofer, looks like it as a hole about 1/8th of an inch long or it's a deep indent, doesn't appear to effect the sound, another woofer as about a 3 inch scrape that is slightly indented on the copper part of the woofer, again doesn't seem to effect the sound, there is one leg missing off one of them, both grills have the top two pegs broken off, other then that everything else seemes to be in good shape, he had it hooked up to a little boombox, and turned it up loud and they both sounded fine, what do you think they are worth and should I fix them and if so about how much would it cost, can legs for them be purchased, I am looking to buy a pair of these and I thought if I bought these ones, I would use them as rear speakers and buy a better condition pair of RF-7's for the front, any help would be great.

  6. Small, the woofer's in your 7's will still pick up LF's and will sound better then if you used smaller speakers for your fronts, but let your subs do the work they are made to do, I have tried it both ways and for HT, I think it sounds best when all speakers are set to small.

  7. Yes. thanks for your help, I watched the one on ebay, ended at $280 plus shipping, and with me being in Canada it would of been at least a hundred more with shipping and customs, so I got the one here locally for $325 no tax, so it worked out really well, just have to find some RF-7's here or across the border in Michigan, close enough to drive, the hunt begins, I can get a pair of used RF-83's for $1200 local, not sure if that's a good deal or not, but I think I want to hold out for the RF-7's, again thanks.

  8. Hi, thanks for the help, I don't know if this matters but the RS-52's I just purchased are the series ll, and I can get the RC7 for $325 no tax, I think that's a good deal not real sure and I can get the RC62 ll new for $470 plus tax, so I am trying to keep the cost down and get a good fit, if I get the RC7 I will try to find a good deal on the RF7's and sell the 82's or move them to the rear instead of getting the RS7's.

  9. Hi, I am new to the forum and need some help, I have RF-82's for my fronts and I just purchased a set of RS-52's for the rears in a 5.1 setup I am using a pioneers 1020, and I can get a good deal on a RC-7 for my center, I am currently using a polk CSi5, would the RC-7 be a good fit or should I hold off and save for a RC62 or 64, also one more question, if I changed to a 7.1 setup would a pair of RS-7's work good for rears with the RS-52's as my sides, my room is 20' by 13', I have a 61" lifi panasonic about 16' from the seating area and the seating is against the back wall, any suggestions would be great, also may consider replacing the Rf82's with RF-7' if I could find a good deal, thanks in advance for all help.
