  1. That won't be necessary. I routed out new grill boards using the speaker itself as a template. I had to pull all the guts to do the refinishing anyway. Groomlake's instructions were very helpful, though I simplified some of the steps by using the Cornwall box as the template.
  2. Thanks. That link is outstanding. I didn't realize this would require that much work, but better to know now than screw it up later.
  3. The serial numbers are 8407319 and 8407320. When I heard the lady say, "$5 each" while pointing at the two cabinets, I went into a bit of shock. But I managed to reach into my pocket and pull out a ten. I also had to go home for a different car because they wounldn't fit in what I was driving. It was just as well because I also grabbed a hand truck. They had no one to help me move them.
  4. I'm restoring a pair of Cornwalls that need grilles. I ordered the cloth from Bob Crites, but I have a question about the cutout for the grille backer board. Are there separate cutouts for each driver and the port, or do some share a common cutout? My serial numbers are 8407319 and 8407320. If someone could post a photo of the back of a removed grille, that would be very helpful. Thanks.
  5. Last week I bought a pair of Cornwalls at an estate sales for $10. YES, $10! There were no grills and the cabinets are pretty beat, but the drivers look clean and cursory check indicates that none are damaged. I'd like to bring the speakers back to as close to original as possible. I found grill cloth via a lead on this forum, but I'd also like to put back the Corwall logos. Is there any way to get the metal badges?
