No they're not picking up any radio broadcasts. In fact they play out any sound coming from my soundcard such as games or music from cds and winamp!!! And with the power button on the control pod at off, the light is red!! My 4.1 are new it's been only 6 month since i bought them. What tech support thinks about this... I'm sure i played music before when they were off and no soud was coming out.

Its wierd, when the power button is off u can clearly hear very low sound coming out from all the speakers when i play music from winamp... and this at all volume level!!! Is it a problem or it's just normal?? Thanks in advance for your replys...

Thanks again Btrigg and also Dan F (I'm still trying to figure out "chuffing" ) I went to the store where I bought them and we made the same bass test with a 2.1, we didn't heard the rattle so they gave me a new set a 4.1 in exchange. I'm still surprised, they were nice to me!!! I'm still hearing the rattling in the new system but less than before so I'm gonna adjust my sound setting in consequence. My friend told me it may be the soundcard sending to much bass to the speakers, something about a 1:1 ratio not being correct. But he made the same jump that i did when he first heard the rattling and saw that all the settings was almost at half... Anyway I think that it's all I can do... This is a message for the people who are thinking of buying and looked at this post, GO BUY THEM, even with the little problem that I had, I don't even regret at all the 500$ CAN that i had to pay... they are worth it. Thanks Btrigg for the reply but the thing is that my set is only a week old and i'm somehow positive that i never heard that rattling sound before... This is why it's driving me crazy!!! And i'll never open the sub because it will void the warranty. I know i can return them to the store where i bought them but when i called they told me that they gonna have to check the 4.1 by sending them to i don't know where and it could take a couple of weeks. Since i live in Canada, i know that's gonna take more than two weeks. So i want to be 100% sure that something in the sub is broke or even in the preamp before sending them for nothing. Can somebody give me somekind of tests that i could try. Like i said before, i'm really a newbie...

Hi all, I just need to clear up something... There is a rattling sound coming out from my sub that is killing me. I bought the 4.1 a week ago and OH GOD THEY SOUND SOOOO GREAT!!!!!!! but now i'm scared like hell because i think that i might broke something in them. I played a lot the Matrix (the lobby shooting spree of course) to show off my 4.1 to my friends at high volume... and they were blown away by the sound (I'm like a hero for them now because I was the only one who had enough money to buy them , well now i have to eat Kraft Dinner for a year now...) when suddenly, 2 days ago, in the same scene i heard some kind of a wierd noise coming out from my sub!!! I didn't pay attention because I'm new to the sound/great speakers world... So to be sure it wasn't my imagination i tried the "THX - Ultimate Bass Test" that you can d/l from napster. After 30 sec of music play, when some kind of bass mix kick in, the sub start to rattle very bad. When I put my hand infront of the port i can feel the air coming out like crazy. I tried the bass test at this settings: Play control volume: 75% Midi and Wave: 100% Treble and Bass: 65% Subwoofer, Surround and Main Volume: about half. I have a Sound Blaster Live Value, the 4 channel one. I tried to lower the windows volumes and higher the 4.1 and I still have the same rattling sound. So i was wondering, did i broke something in the 4.1 by trying them so loud or it's just me? I heard that they had somekind of limiter to prevent that kind of things!!! Please help me, i don't sleep anymore I'm always thinking: "what did i do wrong? why meee? why meeeeeeeeee?" A new Klipsch Fan who needs guidance!
