  1. I still have not had the chance to audition the Cornwall III"s. I did give a good listen to the new Magnepan 1.7 speakers, a pair of Vienna Acoustics Mozarts, and a really sweet sounding pair of Paradigm Monitor 7's over the weekend. Although each had their strengths, I would not buy them to replace my KG 5.5's. The Maggies sounded very nice, but man are they bland to look at. The Vienna Acoustics were boxy sounding and way overpriced, but the little Paradigms had the sweetest sound. They however would not fill a large room with sound the way the KG's do. I absolutely will not buy anything until I hear those Cornwalls somehow.
  2. I found a Heritage dealer about 170 miles away in Georgetown, TX near Austin. I emailed them to see what they had in stock, and hopefully I will get up there in the next couple of weeks. Thanks for the input.
  3. Hello all. My first post here. I will soon be replacing my KG 5.5 speakers with an upgrade, and I am leaning toward the Cornwall III. I recently began upgrading my entire system. I replaced my Jolida 302a-brc tube amp with the Emotiva XPA-3, and will soon be adding an XPA-2 to have a 5.1 system. I have had the KG 5.5 speakers since 95, and they have been paired with A/V receivers by Yamaha or Harman Kardon and the aforementioned Jolida amp as strictly stereo. Although the Jolida made a substantial improvement over the A/V receivers, I have never been totally pleased with the overall sound quality with the KG 5.5's used for listening to music. That is until I bought the new Emotiva gear. WOW. What a difference. The KG 5.5's clarity, detail and sound stage all very clearly improved, with the deeper bass becoming much tighter. The KG's also sound much improved at very low volume levels with much more bottom end coming through. The thing is, I still want the best sound I can afford, with the Cornwalls being the absolute upper limit cost wise. I have never heard the Cornwall in any of its various editions, but from what I have been reading, it looks like it would be right up my alley. I can't help but wonder though, would the sound improve enough with the Cornwall over the KG's to warrant the price I would pay? Is there another Klipsch speaker that would have the bass response that the KG 5.5 has in a tower that I should give a listen too that can be auditioned locally? I am having trouble finding a dealer that stocks any Heritage speakers around San Antonio. Looking forward to any advice that you all could share. Cheers
