  1. Andy, Are you using a Mac? If so, try going to the "Appearance" Control Panel, and under the Sound tab, set the sound track to None. Restart your computer - and your problems should be gone!!! I also used to have this static / popping noise whenever playing DVD's. It is a Mac OS / Apple DVD Player problem and not related in any way to your speakers. If you are using a PC, I have no idea how to help you... Hope this helps.
  2. I have exactly the same sound from my rear speakers. I find that the noise is loudest with the surround at 12 o'clock (but very similar at minimum volume). Between about 4 o'clock and max volume, the speakers stop emmiting this noise. Tried connecting the set to a portable cd player - it changes to something like a 60Hz hum (probably because the portable player is not grounded like the computer) and is much louder. Not sure what to do about this sound. It is a bit annoying (esp. with the portable cd). Is there a known solution? Is there something wrong with the control pod?
  3. Don't forget Kromer Radio (Downtown Toronto). That's where I got my 4.1's. They are a full service dealer. I think that means if you have any problems with your purchase, they will have the speakers fixed.
  4. Hi everyone. I went to look at a set of 4.1's today. 1) Does anyone else find the control pod knobs are loose/wobbly? Are they meant to be like this? Are they rubber mounted? 2) Can the cables that connect the sound outputs (from computer etc) to the control pod be disconnected from the pod? (ie. are they permanently attached or are they connected with a mini-jack like the speakers?) 3) What is the warranty period on these speakers? Thanks
